STEPHANIE TRIED TO let go of the intimacy she had felt with Jack, but it haunted her. She knew it was silly – she had only known him for a few days... but the bond she felt for him was unmistakable. Everywhere she turned in the house... something there reminded her of him. But she knew she had to repair the back door so she dutifully went about doing that as the emptiness in her heart returned.
