"Tracy let's go already." I groaned stumping my feet. We had been at the store getting new clothes for almost three hours now. It was interesting at first but my legs were killing me.
"Heaven don't be a killjoy. I just want to get this cute corset top I saw online." Tracy answered not even looking at me. She was so engrossed in looking for her 'corset top' to see that I was so damn tired.
"This is the last time I'm following you to a*****e ever."
"This is the hundredth time you're saying this Heaven and you always still come along. Admit it, you love shopping too. Plus I'm your bestie." Tracy said finally looking at me all the while wiggling her brows.
"After this corset top, we're going home." I said in a tone of finality.
"Sure baby girl. Have you spoken to Ashley today?"
"Yeah, she said her parents wanted her to come with to a friend's house." Ashley was our third friend who had been mysteriously getting lost these days.
"Hmmm. Sounds weird."
"Yeah right."
"Oh here it is." Tracy said jumping excitedly. She was holding a pink top that looked really cute.
"It looks good." I commented.
"Yes that's why we'll be twinning. I'll get one for Ashley too." Trace said dropping a purple colour of the exact shirt on my hand then selecting a blue one for Ashley before walking off to the cashier to ring her items. I followed closely behind her but I walked really slow because like I said my legs were killing me.
After paying we left the store and moved towards Tracy's car. We took hers because she drove to my house this morning screaming like a banshee about how we have to look good for senior year and I was too tired to drive.
"McDonald's?"Tracy asked when we were already seated in her car.
"Drive thru please. I'm so hungry."I groaned out.
Tracy drove us there and we made our orders and decided to eat in the car before heading home.
"You know, I'm scared." Tracy confessed halfway into her burger.
"Scared?" I asked thinking of what she could be scared of.
"Don't tell me Daniel is doing something to you again Trace." I said with a murderous look in my eye. Daniel was my best friend's emotionally abusive boyfriend although he promised to change.
"No! not that. It's just that I really want to go to college. I don't want to fail my papers this year. I'm really scared."
"Fear is just a figment of our imagination trying to hold us back. it doesn't exist. We're going to pass our exams and go to college and tick all the boxes in our bucket list okay?"
"Easy for you to say Heaven you're so smart and you have a tutor."
"You know how much I hate my tutor Trace." I said making us burst into laughter.
"Seriously Heaven. I don't want a perfect result and s**t I just want to pass enough to go to college."
"And I'm saying you will. I believe in you Trace." I said hugging her over the middle console. It was weird to see Tracy like this, she was always bubbly and seemed not to care about her problems so seeing her like this was really disheartening.
"Don't over think it. We are going to college Okay?"
"Okay."
"Now drive us home so we can binge watch the Witcher."
"I think your tutor will say otherwise. " Tracy teased laughing loudly.
"s**t!" I had totally forgotten I had tutorials today.
Fuck my life.

"So that will be all for this holiday. I know you're happy not to see me around anymore." My tutor Selena said smiling.
"You have no idea." I said jumping up and gathering all books. At least my parents had the decency to give me three tutorial free days before school resumed. Kudos to them.
"I wish you luck in all your exams most especially your finals." Selena said looking ready to go.
"Thank you very much." I said appreciatively.
"You're a really smart girl." She added before walking out of the big study. It belonged to my dad but during the holidays, it belonged to me because I had my lessons here. I loved it here, it was peaceful and quiet and it almost everything I loved: privacy and books.
I jogged downstairs to get something to eat after the completely draining tutorial I had to go through. And oh... food is my last love, how I am not fat is beyond me.
"Hey Maggie." I greeted hugging her. Maggie had always been there for my brother Ashton and I, especially when my parents decided that their jobs were more important than their relationship with their kids.
"Hello my sweetie." She said hugging me back. She felt so warm and motherly that I never wanted to leave her arms forever.
"I'm done with my tutorials for the holidays. " I said happily after I managed to pull out of her motherly hug. She knew how much I hated the tutorials something my parents have failed to realize courtesy of their busy schedule, so she knew how happy I felt.
"Oh dear that is great news. You must be famished then." She said pinching my cheeks.
"You have no idea."
"The pasta is almost ready. How about you munch on those cookies while I finish up?"
"Sure." I agreed and started to eat the heavenly chocolate chip cookies. Maggie was such a goddess in the kitchen thank God I was learning a lot from her. I am rest assured I won't suffer in college.
"Did mum and Dad come back home yesterday?" I asked trying to hide the sadness in my voice.
"They had surgery to perform together together honey. You know how their things are." Maggie said sympathetically.
"Ohh. that's cool I guess." I stated and continued eating my cookies. I didn't want to feel too bad since they were saving lives but they had totally neglected me and I had hoped I was the one who slept off and didn't hear the sound of their car but I guess I was wrong.
I was always wrong when it came to my parents.
So f*****g wrong.

"So you Miss Heaven Mikayla Robinson has been declared the winner of the candy fest!" Mr chocolate announced smiling at me and gesturing for me to come up to the stage to take my gift which was a truckload full of different sorts of candy from different countries. I was intrigued.
"Miss Heaven can you step foward to collect your prize?" Mr Chocolate called to me again to remind me that I was the winner. That brought me out of my momentary trance and I happily made my way over to the stage to collect what had been prepared for me. I was almost there when I heard a familiar voice calling me back.
"Heaven come on stop acting like a child."
it was Maggie. why was she calling me when I was about to be candy wealthy for life?
"Heaven!" She called harshly this time making me open my eyes. Wait....what? I opened my eyes?
"Quit dreaming of sweets and go get ready for school." Maggie said before leaving the room. So it was a dream after all.
I finally got out of bed and prepared for school. After my 5 minute shower and teeth brushing, I wiggled into my black skinny jeans and purple corset top Ashley, Trace and I decided to wear together then I styled my rich blonde hair into a ponytail leaving some strands to frame my face then applied some pink lip gloss and mascara. Satisfied with my look, I grabbed my bag and trudged downstairs to get what to eat before heading to school. I was still going to pick Tracy so I had to be quick so we wouldn't be late.
Finally getting downstairs I saw a full plate of pancakes probably prepared by Maggie that I wolved down in four minutes then pushed down with a glass of Oj before rushing out with a random chocolate bar I found on the counter.

"I have to say this again. My car sucks." Trace said making me chuckle.
"Come on Trace your car sucks nothing but beauty."
"Not up to this baby I'm inside right now." She said praising my Cadillac again. She was used to praising my car every second of the day and I was honestly tired of it. It's not like my parents gave me out of the love they have for me more like It was to compensate the lack of love thereof.
"My car sucks ass." She groaned again.
"Your car is a beautiful Corolla girl." I reminded her.
"Do not say that again." She warned making me laugh.
"At least it was given to you out of love." I said parking the car in an empty spot and getting our quickly before Tracy tried to lecture me on how to love gifts.
"Heaven can you grow up?" Trace said getting out of the car with me. Thank God they were not much people in the parking lot because she looked like she was about to make a scene.
"Grow up? I need to grow up? Could you please tell me how to perfectly do that without active parents?" I said smiling sweetly at her. She couldn't ever know what I felt. Her parents have always been there for her.
"You know what they're doing is necessary, people need them. " Tracy reasoned.
"And so do I but I'm going to act like I don't know what you're talking about and drag you to class before we're late."

"Today is my best day ever." I said doing a happy dance. We were presently making our way to the Cafeteria to get something to eat.
"Uhh why?" Ashley asked looking at me like I had grown two heads.
"Because the only person that makes me act like a stupid girl is not here and we're not going to talk about it." I proceeded to enter the Cafeteria and made my way over to the food stand but as usual, luck was not on my side because the greatest b***h of all time, Rebecca and her two annoying minions just had to stand in my way attracting the attention of everyone in the Cafeteria.
"If it isn't the ugliest girls in school. You've all finally found some dress sense somewhere." Rebecca said loudly with a smirk on her face. She was referring to our matching corset tops which were absolutely beautiful. She loved embarrassing others and right now, she was feeding off the laughter that had erupted in the hall.
"Just in case you forgot your leash at home and got lost, I want to inform you now that you're standing in my way." I said with a fake smile. My statement made ohhs and ahhs to erupt in the hall.
"Oh sweetie I know I'm fully aware I'm your way. One can only bear such ugliness." She said mirroring my smile.
"We both know the latter statement describes you so what do you want?" I asked looking bored. She always wanted something.
"I want to speak to you." She said simply and started staring at me like a weirdo. People were watching intently waiting for a fight.
"Does your brain need a pep talk to start functioning so that your mouth can speak?" Ashley retorted from behind me looking at Rebecca with all the hate she could muster. Rebecca had been the reason for Ashley's break up with her cute boyfriend Nate.
After Ashley moved here in her sophomore year, Nate made a move on her for months before he asked her to be his girlfriend, it was all rosy and stuff till Rebecca had to seduce him and take pictures at least that's what we heard. It was a really shady issue because Nate continued to deny it till date but Ashley just never wanted to hear any explanations, plus Nate's face wasn't visible but Ashley claimed it was him because of the tattoo on the left side of his stomach. Let's just say Ashley never got along with Rebecca ever since then. Not that they got along before.
"If it isn't the pathetic girlfriend." Rebecca spoke looking at Ashley with a smirk on her face. People snickered at her shameful statement.
"And if it isn't the pathetic slut." Ashley spoke earning full blown laughter from the hall. She was trying to move towards Rebecca but was stopped by Trace.
"Now who needs a leash?" Lily, b***h number 2 spoke giggling.
"Why don't you mind your business Lilith?" I said intentionally changing her name.
"Why don't you tell your friend to mind hers? And it's Lily dummy. "
"We all know who the dummies here are." Tracy retorted making everyone laugh. Rebecca looked really embarrassed right now so unusual. Well, she picked on the wrong girl today.
"I came to talk to you. " Rebecca said angrily.
"We've been standing here for the past five minutes after you established that statement." I answered giving her the 'are you stupid ' look.
"Well, your friends mouths kept leaking so she couldn't talk." Anabel b***h minion number 2 finally butted into the conversation.
"Well, now yours is leaking." I replied looking her directly in the eye. "Rebecca can you speak or get the hell out of our way?" I demanded getting irritated. I just declared today as My best day what was happening?
"What I want to say is simple and short sweetie. Stay away from my spotlight this year or else you'll be in for something else. And yes, that goes for the three of you." She declared arrogantly.
"Did you just threaten me?" I asked shocked. She just threatened me! Was that not a crime?
"Oh yes darling I just did." She confirmed looking at me.
"It's pretty obvious that you're just jealous at how good we look because you could never look this good no matter how hard you try, now excuse us we were going somewhere." I replied swiftly
"Don't forget my advice sweetie. Stay away from my Spotlight and stop trying to dress like me. Let's go girls. " She concluded before walking off giving me no chance
"Okay that was funny, dress like her? She dresses like a slut." Ashley said laughing hysterically.
So much for having a calm year.
