The sun had barely risen over the palace courtyard, but the training grounds were already alive with energy. Astrid had told Caspian a day before that she would like to train with his sisters since they were skilled warriors too and he agreed. She stood in the center, feeling the morning breeze on her skin, nerves mixed with excitement. Caspian’s sisters, Mira, Elara, and Lyria circulated around her, each radiating strength, confidence, and the presence of wolves fully in tune with their human forms. Mira stepped forward first, her gaze sharp but encouraging. “Feet shoulder-width apart,” she instructed. “Balance is everything. If you can’t hold your own center, you’ll fall no matter how strong you are.” Astrid adjusted her stance, letting her knees bend slightly, palms open defensively.
