Yeah you're right, I almost forgot she was all alone" Ha rin said as she carried her hand bag. "Wait here I'll go get my car keys"min joon said and left for her office which was not far away from them She quickly changed out of her apron, applied some make up and picked up her car keys. After she left her office she drove to Ha Rin's house. As they got out of the car she noticed the restaurant was filled. "Wow, so many customers today" Mina said as she closed the car door. "You're right" Ha rin said with a nod. "Let's go in" she said and they both walked in. "Excuse me ma'am, could you come over to this table" a male customer said out loud to get the attention of Ha Rin's mum who was attending to another customer. She was the only one serving and it was difficult for her. "What would you like sir?" Mina went up to the man and asked. "Well, my table needs a refill of beer and also a plate of Gangjung chicken " he said with a smile "Got it" she said and carried the three glass cup from the table "Hey mum" They both greeted Ha Rin's mum who was arranging some glass cups. "Oh my, you guys are here finally. Help me out quickly" she said as she left to answer another customer who was calling her. The restaurant was filled and needed immediate services so the girls wore an apron and started to work. Back at the office, it was already 9:40pm and seong min was still at his office. He had been busy since morning reviewing the documents about the embezzlement. "Oh my, it's 9:40pm already" he said to himself as he stood on his feet and went towards the window with his hand on his pocket. The night sky and the light all over the city was beautiful "Only if mum was here to see the sky too" he murmured to himself and his thoughts was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in" he said and turned to see his secretary ji ho. "I thought you were done already"he said as he sat back down on his chair. "I am. I just decided to wait for you that's all" she said with a smile. "Well you don't have to, I'll be leaving late" he replied with his eyes focused on his computer. "Well, I can wait or maybe I should order dinner for us" she suggested but was turned down immediately. "Go home ji ho" he said with a frown. "Yes sir" she replied sadly. "Have a goodnight, sir" she then walked out of the office. When she shot the door, she sighed with a frown. She's really trying everything but he wouldn't even look her in the eyes. "Are the rumors really true?" She asked herself as she walked towards the elevator. Ever since she started working here, she had heard people say that Mr Lee seong min wasn't interested in women at all. No one has ever seen him with one in any occasion or heard anything about his previous relationship. "As far as I know he isn't in any relationship" she said to herself. After all this years she hadn't seen him and a woman in a romantic relationship. "It doesn't matter what they say about him. He may not be interested in women but I'll make sure he's interested in me. I just have to continue giving it my all" she encouraged herself and walked out of the elevator. Back at Lee seong min's office, it was already 11:00pm. "I just need to finish this up and head home" he said to himself when he heard his phone ring. It was his Grandpa. "This man can't get a hint after all this" he said with a frown as he picked up the call. "Can't you take a hint after I've not picked your call for a month now" he said . "That's why I have to keep trying till you pick up and besides that's not a very nice thing to say to your old man" Mr Lee Gwi ku said on the other end. "What do you want anyway?" Seong min asked. "I want you to come to the mansion for the holidays" he went straight to the point. He knew his grandson had avoided his calls because of this particular topic. Ever since his mother's death, the poor boy had to live with him. He missed his mum so much that he cried almost everyday back when he was little but as his Grandpa, he tried everything in his power to always calm him down and make him feel at home but something else kept in the way. During the holidays when his children and grandchildren comes for a visit at the mansion seong min didn't like it at all. He wouldn't eat and hide in his room. At first he had thought the young boy was shy but he later all found out that his step siblings wouldn't want him to play with them and call him all sought of names and even insult his late mother. After he had found out he was really mad at the kids that he yelled at them and went up to meet little seong min. "Hey Seong min" he called out to him and sat on the bed with the little boy who was busy drawing. "I'm sorry. I didn't know the kids were saying such awful things to you" the old man said "You don't have to apologize Grandpa, it's not your fault for not noticing" the boy said still busy with what he was doing. "Still I should have paid much attention to you. You should have come to me when they said all those awful things to you" "I just didn't like them saying so many things about my mum. That's why I stay in my room and not cause you trouble by picking a fight with them " he said to his Grandpa. That was when his Grandpa knew that he wasn't even being bullied instead he didn't want to start a fight. He was happy that his grandson had a mature way of thinking and instead of causing trouble he decided to stay away from them. "Don't worry I'll teach them a very good lesson so that next time they won't mess with my favorite boy" he said and tickled the boy which made him laugh out loud. "And you don't have to meet them if they give you a hard time I'll just send the maid to bring you your meal." His Grandpa said and the little boy nodded his head. "What are you busy with anyway?" He asked the boy who didn't even spare him a glance while they were discussing. "It's our family picture" he replied and looked up at his grandpa. "It's all done now. This is for you" he then handed it over to his Grandpa. It was a drawing of seong min, his mum and his grandpa. "Wow, such a nice and wonderful drawing" he said with a smile on his face. "I'll have it framed and hang it on my room" he was really happy about it and this was the beginning of him opening up to his Grandpa. "You know I don't like coming there during the holidays, Grandpa" he said. "I know, I know but Don't you miss your old man. You haven't even paid me a visit since I got back from Paris. "I'm sorry about that. I'll come over tomorrow" he said. "And I'm also expecting you on the holidays" "Grandpa?, I thought we were done with this talk" he said as he closed his laptop. He was getting ready to leave his office. "You sound like you're scared of them." "You know I'm not." He replied as he puts on his overcoat "Then come spend the Christmas with your grandpa like the old days" "I just want a peaceful Christmas and not unwanted attention from them." He said. "Why don't you just listen to me and come over.. I promise you it's going to be peaceful" his grandpa tried his possible best to convince him. "I'll think about it" seong min just wanted to be done with this call as soon as possible. "Don't say that to end this call. Make sure you think about it and give me a reply that I'll like to hear. "Okay Grandpa" he said. He was now at the lobby of the office on the first floor. "I need to head home now Grandpa" he said as he entered the passenger's seat. He had earlier on told his driver to head home first. "Don't tell me you're working late once again" his Grandpa scolded him. "I am. As you can see it's quite late and I should be resting so could you please hang up now. "You use every opportunity you get to hang up. Anyway I'll grant you your wish but don't forget to have dinner. I know that it's late but you should at least eat something." He said to him. "Alright Grandpa, Goodnight then" he said and quickly hung up. "Finally" he said with a sigh of relief and started the car.
