Chapter 3

Elias POV The moment Lilian walked into my home, something was different. It was in the way she looked at me, less tense, more comfortable, like something had finally lifted from her. She has finally accepted me. She had been fighting this… us. Fighting the bond, fighting me. And I had let her, giving her space, allowing her to find her way back to me in her own time. But tonight? There was something in her eyes that told me she was done fighting. And I was so damn ready. She sat on my couch, curled up with a teacup in her hands. Her dark hair tumbled over one shoulder, and her bare legs were tucked beneath her. I sat beside her, close enough that our thighs touched. Close enough to hear her breath hitch slightly at the contact. “So…” I began, turning toward her. “Are you really going to keep ignoring what's right in front of you? She stiffened. “Feel what?” I chuckled softly, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. “Us" This. My fingers traced her jaws, pausing at her pulse. “I can feel your heart racing". She scoffed, but her cheeks turned pink. “Maybe I just had too much tea.” I smirked. “Or maybe you’re done lying to yourself.” Her lips parted, and for a moment, she said nothing. Then, she sighed and set her mug down on the table. “It’s scary, Elias.” I frowned. “What is?” “This. You.” She met my gaze, her eyes full of conflict. “I’ve already been hurt once. You know that.” I nodded, my jaw tightening. Kieran. That bastard had broken her, made her doubt her own worth. “I’m not him, Lilian,” I said, my voice firm. “I will never be him.” “I know,” she whispered. “That’s what scares me.” I tilted my head. “Why?” “Because with him, I thought I loved him. But with you…” She swallowed. “It’s different. Stronger. And that means if I lose you, it’ll destroy me.” My chest ached at her words. I reached for her hand, lacing my fingers with hers. “Then don’t lose me.” I brought her knuckles to my lips, pressing a kiss there. “Let me love you, Lilian. You don't have to be scared anymore, not with me. She let out a shuddering breath, her eyes searching mine for comfort. Whatever she found must have been enough because she whispered, “Okay.” I barely had time to react before she leaned forward and kissed me. It started slow. Tentative. Her lips brushed against mine softly, exploring, savouring, I let her take the lead. But the moment she sighed into my mouth, I lost it. I deepened the kiss, gripping her waist and pulling her into my lap. She gasped as she straddled me, her hands pressing against my chest for balance. “Elias.” “Shh, I whispered softly, pressing a kiss on her jaw". “I've got you". A soft gasp escaped her lips as I pressed kisses on her throat, my hands tracing every curve of her body. “Tell me to stop,” I whispered against her skin. She shook her head. “Don’t stop.” That was all I needed. I carried her to my bedroom, laying her down gently on the bed. Her eyes followed me as I leaned over, my fingers gently brushing the straps of her dress. “May I?” I asked. She nodded. I slid the fabric down her shoulder, kissing the bare skin I revealed. Her body shook at my touch, clutching my arms tightly. I undressed her slowly, taking in every inch of her skin as though it were a treasure. By the time she was bare beneath me, my control was hanging by a treasure. “You're beautiful", I whispered softly my lips trailing a heated path down her neckline every movement filled with longing. Her face turned to soft pink, fingers slightly tugging at the hem of my shirt. “Then take this off. It’s unfair that I’m the only one undressed.” I chuckled but obeyed, pulling my shirt over my head. Her eyes darkened as she took me in, and when she reached out to trace the lines of my muscles, I nearly groaned. “Perfect,” she whispered. I smirked. “I could say the same about you.” She rolled her eyes. “Just kiss me.” I did. As we moved against each other, the world faded leaving only the connection between our bodies and souls. Each gasp, each moan, each whispered name took me deeper into her, making everything else fade away. And when I felt her getting close, I leaned in, my lips grazing her skin. “I want to mark you", I said my teeth were itching, my wolf urging me to act. She tensed slightly, and I pulled back trying to read the emotions flickering across her face. Her eyes were wide, unsure and searching. “Do you want this?” I asked gently. She hesitated, then nodded. “Yes.” I pressed a kiss to her jaw, then to the spot where her neck met her shoulder. “This might sting,” I warned. She gave me a silent nod, her eyes urging me to go on. And then I bit down. I traced the mark with my tongue. Then she looked up at me, her eyes radiant. “I love you,” she whispered. Something in me snapped. I kissed her fiercely, claiming her in every way possible, showing her exactly how much I loved her back. And when she gave in, calling my name as I held her, I knew she was mine. Forever. Tangled in each other's arms, her head resting against my chest, caressing her and cherishing the peacefully intimacy between us. She sighed in contentment. “That was…” I smirked. “Mind-blowing?” She laughed, swatting my chest. “I was going to say intensely.” “Same thing.” I kissed her forehead. “Lilian, this is just the beginning. She looked up at me, her eyes full of affection. “Promise?” I cupped her face. “I promise. A smile spread across her face, I leaned in, capturing her lips again. But then something shifted. My instincts screamed at me. I went rigid, my body tensing beneath Lilian’s. “What’s wrong?” she asked, frowning. I turned my head toward the window. And that’s when I saw him. A looming shadow hovered just beyond the glass. Tall. Familiar. Unwelcome. Kieran. His expression was unreadable, but his presence was a threat. He didn’t want to be seen. But I saw him. And I knew he wasn’t done with Lilian. I gripped her tighter, kissing her forehead, swearing silently to protect her. I won't let him have you, not after everything that happened. She was mine. And I would protect her at all costs.
