Thirty Seven
I knew Adan said he would deal with the both of us, but I never thought he meant those words literally. The entire car ride back to the mansion was filled with tension I could cut with a knife. It was the first time since her arrival did I see Topaz nervous. She constantly flexed her hand while chewing the inside of her cheek. The fact that I wanted to comfort her made me wonder if I was crazy as to not to be scared about what was about to happen. Topaz knew Adan better than I did and if she was scared right now, then I should take the hint and be worried as well. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t find an ounce of worry inside me. Adan would punish me severely for all this if the anger in his eyes was any indication. When we finally reached the mansion, Adan got out of the car
