I groaned as I stepped out of the fifth dress the sales assistant forced me to try on. I enjoyed dressing up and feeling pretty, but this was getting on my nerves. Considering the circumstances under which this wedding was taking place, I didn’t have a heart to try on dresses and think about being a pretty bride. I was perfectly content wearing one of the million dresses in my closet and saying my vows in those. “I’m getting really tired of this,” I said to Adan who couldn’t seem to take his eyes off me. “We’re not leaving until we have a dress for the wedding,” he reiterated for the hundredth times and I just rolled my eyes again. “Is it really necessary? And I need to be doing this with another woman. It’s bad luck for the groom to see the bride’s dress before the wedding,” I said.
