Getting the House Rent

Luke's mind reeled. "Wow... No way?" This had to be the second biggest coincidence in the world. He had just quarreled with the owner of Dalton Fruit Company, and now he'd caught his daughter red-handed in illegal activities. Surely, this couldn't be a mere chance! He couldn't help but attribute this to the Crime System. It had to be involved somehow. "Mr. Policeman, sir?" The girl's voice snapped Luke back to reality. She stood obediently before him, too scared to run. "Please, can you let me go? The money... I mean, the stolen fee... I don't want it anymore!" An idea suddenly struck Luke. He hastily returned the envelope to her. "What do you mean you don't want it? Here, take it! It's fine, we're all friends here. No problem at all!" "Oh... you..." The girl was shocked. "You know my dad?" "Mm... you see," Luke thought quickly, changing tack. "I... I just rented your house! Now that I understand your situation, if it's to save your mother, I can turn a blind edge! Don't worry, carry on!" "Really? Really?" The girl stood there, stunned, her worldview seemingly turned upside down. "You... you're not messing with me, right?" "Do I look like I'm joking?" Luke smiled, the perfect picture of someone with hidden motives. "Hehehe... Just so you know, I know everything about this area. If you run into any trouble later, Uncle here can take care of it for you! Just... this..." He pointed at the envelope in her hand. "You see?" "Oh!" The girl caught on quickly. "I get it, you want a protection fee!" "Eh?" Luke hurriedly covered her mouth. "What protection fee? That sounds so crude. This business... is our cooperation. You're the tech expert, and I handle the business side. Since we're partners, we should split the profits, right?" "Mister... I think..." The girl meekly asked, "I'm also... doing the business side, aren't I?" "Hm..." Luke furrowed his brow. "It's okay, I know I'm the junior partner here!" Jenna was surprisingly blunt. "You not arresting me is already a big favor! So... how much do you want to split...?" "The street rule is 70-30, me-you," Luke said, channeling his inner street-smart persona. "But since I know your dad, I'll be nice. 60-40, how about that?" "Huh? No!" The girl protested helplessly. "My mom really needs the money, that won't be enough!" "Mm!" Luke frowned, "Alright, 50-50, final offer! Just do your thing once a month! We're teaching those addicted kids a lesson anyway! Wasting their parents' money on games and equipment every day. They deserve to lose their accounts. This way, they'll learn!" Despite essentially coercing the girl into more dubious activities, Luke spoke as if they were on the side of justice. His confident tone showcased his god-tier shamelessness. Jenna, just an inexperienced child, was no match for Luke. In the end, she conceded. Twenty minutes later, Luke was holding the five thousand dollars "reward" he had obtained from Jenna. He headed back to Dalton Fruit Company, intent on renting out the house. As it turned out, someone else had come for the house after he left. Two young men had set their sights on the property. When Luke arrived, they had just paid the rent. The chubby James Dalton stood there laughing as he counted the bills! "Stop!" Luke roared as he strode over, causing everyone to jump. "What... what's going on?" James Dalton looked up to see him. Before he could react, Luke was in his face, yelling savagely, "What the hell, you stupid fatty! Didn't you say you already rented the house to me? I come back with the money and you've already rented it to someone else? Do you have a death wish? Huh?" Luke's fierce expression intimidated the two young men, who were too afraid to speak. "N... No..." James Dalton was confused, "Didn't you... say you didn't..." "Didn't fcking what..." As Luke cursed, he grabbed a piece of sugar cane. "Look here... you want me to wreck your stupid shop?" He then pointed the cane at the two men, "Let me make this clear, whoever wants to rent this house, you better reconsider. I'll be watching your every fcking move, if anything unfortunate happens..." "You..." James Dalton was enraged and yelled, "If you keep this up, I'm calling the police!" Luke immediately pulled out his police ID. "You want to fcking call the police?! First, I'll search your shop. Someone just reported you're selling rotten fruit..." The two young men had already taken their money and disappeared before Luke could finish. James Dalton raised his hands in defeat. "Alright, alright! Bro, you win! You win, you can take the house, okay?" He sighed in defeat.
