4. The new beginning

The summer was gone. I was standing and waiting in the courtyard for my friends. Today was my first day in the Moon’s Academy after the summer break. I was really glad that the school started because I had as always a terrible time at home.

I loved my parents. They were amazing but after I shifted in fourteen they have changed. Instead of parents they were more as rulers to me. As soon as I came home from the school they were always preparing me for my duties.

Night by night after I turned eighteen I was hearing from my mother that it was already time to find my luna. She was asking me what have I done to find her.

So this time I told her that I found my mate in the school. I was looking everywhere but couldn’t find her so I gave up and I decided to tell my mother what she wanted so I could have some peace. Unfortunately it wasn’t true. I haven’t found my mate and I hadn’t peace. After my mother heard that I found my mate she asked me to tell her more about my mate and when she could meet her. I told her that the right time comes soon but now I needed to find my true mate or at least a fake one.

Day by day I was either busy with training or with the rules, economics and pack’s matters because as the future king of the werewolves I had to know every details of all packs in my kingdom.

As my father used to say :”The kingdom is only so strong as strong his king is.”

He was always saying that I must be the best of the best only then everyone would accept me as their king. I tried the best but for my father it was never good enough. I was always too exhausted and my wolf was frustrated so it was the worst combination.

“Gaaaaabe! I missed you!” said Eli and she jumped into my arms. Eli was one of my bests friends and she was the only one who could call me “Gabe”. Every time when I saw her I was thinking how could this creature be the future demon queen. She didn’t look like the demon. She was stunning. I never ever saw someone so beautiful as her. She looked almost angelic. When I saw her for the first time four years ago I was totally disappointed because I was so mesmerized that I secretly wished her as my mate but my wolf who dwelled inside me was quiet. I knew that she wasn’t the one for me. Every year I always secretly hoped that this would change and my wolf would have noticed her as our luna. Today as the other years ago it was unfortunately the same. My wolf stayed as expected quiet- almost.

“You should be careful because if our mate see you now you will be in trouble for sure.” He growled at me.

He was still hoping to find our mate instead of me. I gave already up and I was quite happy just to be with Eli. He liked Eli too but more as a good friend because she wasn’t our mate and she smelled like sulfur.

“ Did you find her? Because I didn’t so don’t be such a pussy.” I told him back.

“How was your summer El? I asked her because I was really interested how she spent her vacation.

“Where are Az and Thiel. I heard some big news!” she changed the topic and I knew that she didn’t want to speak about her holidays so l better let that be.

Amythiel and Azrael were twins and they were our friends. We were together known as the royals because each of us were future monarch. Amythiel and Azrael were vampires and one of them should rule in the vampires kingdom.

“ I don’t know where they are but I hope they will come soon because the school begins in 5 mins and you know that we start today with professor Blackwood's class and he hate when someone is late.” I told Eli and I looked around to find those two.

“Damn! They need to come soon. If we are late he will eat us alive!” she said bitterly.

We both knew that professor Blackwood was pain in the ass. He hated us and he hated the fact that we had higher raking as he so he was always looking for a opportunity to embarrass us or he just gave us really hard time.

“We need to find them as soon as possible.” I said and in that moment it started to rain. It wasn’t just drizzling but it was a pouring rain so I took Eli’s hand and we ran to the main entrance.

When we came in someone caught me on my shoulder and I smelled that it was Azrael.

“Hey Gabriel! How do you do dude? You look like a wet dog and you smell like one too.” said Az to me sniffing around me with a big smile and I couldn’t do anything else just to laugh because I missed him.

He was a vampire but not a common one. With her sister they were pure royal blooded vampires. Normally were werewolves and vampires mostly enemies. Our kinds hated each other but we were best friends.

I thought that there is no person in the world who will hate Az. He was stubborn, eccentric and little bit moron, because sometime he lost himself in time. He liked history more than anything else so time by time he forgot that we existed. He was super intelligent but in other hand sometimes just too silly. He was totally unpredictable and I liked it. He had his own fun club of admirers because he was freaking handsome. Maybe it was the blood from the Moon Goddess in his veins but he looked almost like some god. He was little bit taller than me and had blue eyes and blond hair. He had a perfect body as all other vampires. However, it was his personality that could steal your heart. If he liked someone then it wasn’t important for him if the one had bad reputation or was one of his enemies. That was the reason why we became friends as well. On the first day in the first year he was sitting in front of me and once he suddenly turned to me and with serious sigh he told me that he really like dogs so we should be friends. For a second I was shocked and then I started to laugh because it was hilarious and so we became good friends.

His sister was quite opposite. She was malicious, vicious and spiteful but she loved her brother more than anything and later we found out that she was a devoted friend.

“ Where were you? We were waiting for you because I have some news.” said Eli to them.

“ We are here aren’t we? Can you now spill it out, or are we still waiting for someone else?” said Amythiel obviously annoyed.

“I heard that we have a new schoolmate this year but she is a human.” said Eli to us.

“ El I thought that you don’t like rumors!” said Az to her.

“ It is not a rumor but a fact. I was in dean’s office when I saw her file on his desk!” she said on defense.

“Okay okay it’s not important now. We need to go to the trainings hall or we will be in trouble! “ I said to them when I saw that Az wanted to argue with her.

They all nodded and we went to our first class not knowing that the class will change everything including our lives.
