CHAPTER THREE

Just when she thought he had forgotten them.
Why would he show up again?
Williams Gomez was one of her father’s creditors at the point of losing his business after he was swindled in one of his business dealings. Her father couldn’t pay up all the debt he was owing. He had an accident while driving home drunk from work and died immediately. Some of the creditors were paid, some didn't demand the money after they died, while they promised to pay the others subsequently, which one of them was Williams Gomez.
She had once slept with him so he would erase their father's debt record, which she had agreed to because the money was too much, and he was threatening her with her brother's life.
“What does he want again?” Sarah asked her brother, who was looking so downcast.
“He demanded to see you when you were back from work”. Her brother replied.
“He didn't say why he wanted to see me?” Sarah asked again.
“No, he only said you should come see him when you get back” Luke replied.
“Well, I’m not going anywhere, he should go f**k himself.” She hated him so much.
She picked up her bag and marched to her room angrily, barging the door behind her.
She wasn't going to let him ruin her day already.
She wouldn't try to see him either.
She searched her drawer for contraceptives, took two pills and gulped it down her throat with water.
She climbed into her bed to take a nap. She was going to rest all day as she was exhausted.

LATER IN THE DAY
“What did you get for me? Luke asked, searching for her bag.
“I didn't buy anything. I was so tired this morning”. She started feeling so sad she didn't buy him anything.
“What's this? Who owns this?” Luke asked, looking up at him.
“What's that?” She asked, checking to see what was in his hand.
“I found a business card in my bag. Who owns it?” Luke asked. Stretching the card towards her to check.
“Ohh, this man wants me to be his wife out of the blue”, She stated, reading the information on his card.
It had his name and contact with his email address.
“His wife? Why? I don't really understand.”
“Well, i spent the night with him, and he offered to help me pay mom's medical bills and sponsor your education if i agreed to marry him for a year. He offered a marriage contract.”
“Ohh, a contract marriage. Why would he do that when he had just met you for a night?”
“Do you know him? What's his name? ”Luke asked again.
“It's here, didn't you see it?” Sarah said, stretching the card back to him to take a proper look at it.
“You collected the card from me before i could even check what was on it”, Luke stated, taking the card from his sister.
“Jayden Roberts!!!” He shouted so much that Sarah got up immediately to her feet.
“Why are you shouting? I knew he was a dangerous man. My instincts didn't tell me wrong. I hope he isn't a killer” Sarah asked, already trembling in fear, while Luke started to laugh immediately.
“That man is wealthy, he's the richest here in Los Angeles. He's a billionaire and a popular philanthropist. Although he's known to be very strict and disciplinarian, he's my role model and i love him”, Luke finally said, after so much laughter.
“Really? No wonder his name rang a bell. I didn't recognize him at all because i don't know him. Have only heard of him” Sarah said, breathing out in relief.
She sat back on her bed.
“You spent the night with him?” Luke asked again.
“Yes”
“He asked you to be his wife for a year, nothing else., and you said no. I guess you don't know him. Where's your phone?”
She gave him her phone while he searched the Internet for some information about him.
She stared at the pictures Luke showed her beneath his information.
He's so handsome.
She had never seen a man look so incredibly dashing effortlessly.
“He said he wanted to close a business deal, that he needed a marriage certificate whatsoever to prove to them that he's legally married, and he doesn't like the kind of job i was doing so he thought of helping me that way” Sarah said looking at her brother who wasn't even bulging at was she had just said.
She had expected him to convince her not to accept the offer, but she wasn't expecting him to look like it wasn't a big deal.
“He just wants to help Sarah. It's only for a year”, Luke said. He knew his sister wasn't going to accept the offer anyway.
“No, why would he want a s*x worker for a wife? He could have chosen anyone for this”, Sarah said, already feeling irritated by her brother's action,
“Sarah, this offer is better than working as a s*x worker. He's capable of paying for mom's heart surgery. Remember there are a lot of people we still owe money. You can't continue like this, and you won't allow me help. Please”
“No. And no further argument. Go trash that card. I” She almost yelled.
“I will work for mom's surgery. The money will be completed soon. I already sent part payment for your school fees to the management”, she added.
“Okay, thank you sis. You're the best”. Luke said slowly before walking out the room with the card in his hand.
She sighed, putting the blanket over her head to rest more.
She wasn't going to accept such an offer. Never!!
