Chapter 4: The Unwanted

I woke up before the sun came up and went in the bathroom to start a shower and brush my hair and teeth and get ready for the day, I don't know if my Master would let me out today I didn't know if I crossed a line for him. I don't understand why he would let another man kiss me and what where they talking about, why where the wolves trying to go up against the Wolves I don't understand. I walked out of the bathroom after I did everything and grabbed a warm long sleeve shirt and some sweats, and rang for someone to come up from the kitchen and get food and something to drink. I went out to the balcony and waited for someone to come in as I was watching the sunrise. 

"Ma'am you rang?" a deep voice made me jump in my skin and I turned real quick to see the Butler waiting for me behind him I saw someone else waiting to talk to me. 

"Um, yes I was wondering if you could bring me some breakfast and coffee please?" I smiled at him and watched him nod and walk away I turned around excited for food.

Someone behind me cleared there throat, I turned around and smiled "Yes, what can I do for you?" I smiled politely.

"Ma'am, Master Lambereth wanted me to let you know he will be gone a few months and you have the run of the place to do as you please, he says to stay in the fence and not to leave, if you do there will be dire consequences." I swallowed as the man bowed and left. 

I sighed *All alone how can I be left all alone what will I do with myself, I cant be trapped I don't want to be left alone.* I frowned as I felt like I wasn't wanted by him, I felt like he was just playing with my heart. 

*But he marked you Ombre, so suck it up and make due of it, also means you wont get punished* I laughed at myself and decided I would make this place my own and try my best to get comfortable. As I was thinking someone brought my food in for me and sat it next to me on the table, I smiled at them and thanked them than started eating and drinking my coffee, while watching the sunrise. 

After, the sun came up and I was done eating I decided to explore the house. I started with the upstairs and couldn't believe there was about twenty rooms upstairs I went down stairs and found ten more rooms and what seemed of my Masters office I didn't dare step inside the room do to the fact that I didn't think he would respect that than I decided to go put on my swimsuit and tan and swim for a bit. 

After I was done at the pool I went out front and saw some gardeners working and decided to ask if I could help they looked at me and smiled and nodded and showed me how to plant. I decided after I learned how to plant flowers and all sorts of things that I wanted to plant red roses. I walked inside and found the Butler in the room and cleared my throat, he turned and bowed "How may I help you Ma'am?" he stood there waiting for me to answer. 

"I was wondering if there was anyway I could speak to my Master?" I looked down at my hands and frowned afraid that he would tell me that it wasn't possible. 

"Yes ma'am he left a number for you, he didn't want me to tell you, he wanted to see if you would ask to speak to him." he smiled and led me to his office and dialed the number for me. 

I took the phone and waited when he spoke "Hello, Little one, how can I help you, better yet what can I help you with." I could hear the smirk on the other end.

"I was wondering if I could send someone to buy some roses so I can plant them the gardeners taught me." I was so excited that I blurted it all out at once without thinking.

"Tsk, tsk, Little one what are you doing playing in the dirt someone as perfect as you, shouldn't meddle in that kind of stuff." I sighed and knew I shouldn't have even tried. 

"Yes, sir..I am sorry sir my mistake." I felt tears coming to my eyes but tried to cover it. 

He sighed "Fine I will send someone to get you roses, little one just stop crying." I smiled and started to squeal "Thank you, thank you so much, I love you, I cant wait till you get back and see them." without thinking I just kept going "I miss you and cant wait till you see how beautiful they are, they are my favorite flowers in the world." I took a deep breath and grinned really big. 

It was quiet on the other end and at first I thought he hung up on me "Master?" I waited for a response "Ombre, what did you say to me." I assumed it wasn't a question "Did you say you Love me?" He started to laugh. At first I assumed he was laughing at me for being ridiculous my heart stopped "alright, little one you go have fun and try to stay out of trouble." I agreed and we both hung up, I was frowning because even though I didn't mean to tell him I loved him it still slipped out and he didn't say it back to me.

That made me feel even more unwanted, I guess he only took me because, well I don't know why he took me and brought me here. I sighed and walked out and told the Butler that he was allowing me to get the roses, the Butler nodded and started to walk away when I stopped him "Wait" I waited till he stopped and turned around "Why doesn't Master like me? Why does he keep me here when he could reject me?" The Butler froze and stared at me like I was on fire "Ma'am, that is a question for your Master." with that he turned and walked away. 

I tried to think about what to do when I decided to go in the movie theater room he had to watch a movie. I picked the first Star Wars and decided to do a Star Wars Marathon, as I was watching it I passed out on the couch in there, when I felt his presence I sat up real quick and blinked there stood Algida, Myles and my Master. "I thought you would be gone a few months" they all stared at me and that's when I realized I hurt Myles last night "Myles" I looked at him "I am truly sorry for freaking out on you, it just made me uncomfortable." Myles smiled and hugged me "Its fine, Little girl." than I looked at my Master "I am sorry for disrespecting you and your friends, I should probably get to bed." I started to walk towards the door when he grabbed me and kissed me roughly, I moaned, he pulled away and was looking into my eyes and I knew they where gold again. 

He held my hand and we all went to the room we where in last night, He sat down and pulled me on his lap. "We are back for a reason, Ombre." His tone was off like I did something I stood and looked at him, he didn't try to stop me.

"Why did you come back so soon?" I asked looking at him with curiosity in his eyes. 

He tapped his fingers on the couch and leaned over and looked at me "Ombre, your Father is challenging me, by any chance did you know about this?" his voice got harsh at the end.

I froze and stood there and started to laugh, more to myself than anything "He actually is doing that, he's challenging a man he says everyone needs to fear." I smiled and turned around thinking. "I didn't know he would do it but I did hear him and a few wolves talking about it" I hesitated "But to be honest I don't know what that has to do with me?" I turned to look at my Master with confusion.

He stood up and walked towards me and grabbed my arm and held it tightly "the reason I ask is because we want to make sure you are not using us and just going along with this "Mate" thing" He growled the word mate like it was the plague. 

I looked at him and smiled but the smile didn't reach my eyes. "Master, I cant betray you even if I wanted to, not saying I do, but if I tried it would feel like I was being shot over and over again. On top of that, I don't want to go back to them, but I may be able to help." I turned around debating if it was the right thing to do, to help them what if he doesn't want me and is using me than what will I do.

Myles stepped up "How can you help? a Wolf with nothing to give." He laughed a humorous laugh.

I smiled at him and started laughing "are you forgetting that I am a White Wolf, I am also..." I hesitated "I am the next in line to be Queen of the White Wolves my Father made me sign my Queen rights away and was going to make me marry a man I despise and who bullied me everyday" I stopped and walked over to the fire and stood there watching it as memories slipped into my head. "you see if I don't find my mate the contract is valid if I do find my mate the contract is void, also I am more powerful than you all think, if I wanted to hurt any of you, I could" I stopped and thought about it "well at least everyone but my mate." I halfway smiled and looked at my Master "I can do things, you where there and I have abilities that I can use now sense my Fathers witch cant control me now sense I am off there territory." I watched him as he looked at me with an unreadable look on his face.

"I am glad to hear that, wish I would have been aware of this, but either way Ombre. We don't need your help. Wolves are not strong like we are" he stood up and grabbed me and yanked me forward and grabbed my chin hard "and besides, little one, I don't need you getting hurt or need your help. We are stronger than all of the Wolves." He kissed me and gave me a cruel smile. 

I sighed and stood there trying to figure out if I should say anything when there was knock at the door. "Ma'am, the Red Roses you wanted are here." The Butler bowed and left the room. I squealed and started to walk away when I remembered my Master was here I frown and stopped and turned around to walk back towards him and lowered my head knowing I made a mistake. 

I watched her as her face fell from being happy to sad it made heart ache for her, I shook my head and sighed "Go, little one, have fun.." She squealed and hugged me without waiting for me to finish "BUT!" I raised my voice "Be careful I know Roses have thorns and I don't need you making yourself bleed or hurt yourself, and make sure to wash up and get all the dirt off you before I see you, understand!" He looked at her as she nodded and kissed him before hurrying out the door.

"Lambereth, you have it bad." Myles started laughing really hard like he made some joke. 

I looked at him and glared, daring him to keep going.

Algida cleared his throat "He has a point, you love her don't you?" He smiled at me

"Algida, Myles, love isn't in my vocabulary, so why would you even think that?" I stared at them with a cold expression.

They both looked at each other and smiled "You didn't punish her when she started to walk away from you, you just let her go without any consequences." Myles eyed me for a second before turning and heading to poor himself a drink. 

"Not to mention after she called you, you rushed home to her. So with all do respect why wouldn't we think you love her, even though we are at war, you chose her over the war." Algida watched him with curiosity in his eyes "Why are you so fond of this White Wolf, you of all people, hate Wolves of any sort." he grimaced and looked down remembering what happened to Lambereth's first mate Nagla, when a Wolf came into the city and attacked and killed her, ever sense Prince Lambereth has been out for blood. Not to mention Myles and I have always had his back we all where best friends even Nagla, we all hoped she would be his mate his partner and Queen, but she didn't last and it broke the Prince's heart.

Prince Lambereth hesitated "I honestly feel like she's different maybe she can help, maybe she's the one to bring our kingdoms together, Wolves, Witches, Warlocks you name it and she's been hurt by her own kind, but your right she should have been punished and its not to late, on the other hand she came back and the look she had she knew she should be punished. Just this once I will allow what she did slide." his face darkened. 

Ombre was outside planting with Jenavieve, one of the gardeners who become her very good friend. 

"Ombre, I can't believe he's allowing this he never lets anyone plant flowers, not even his first mate." She stopped and realized what she said and frowned "Sorry, Ombre, i shouldn't have said that." tears welled in her eyes. 

"Jenavieve, are you okay? and what do you mean his first mate? am I not his first mate?" I looked at her and realized she was scared I frowned. 

"Ombre, we are forbidden to talk about it, please excuse me." She stood up to walk away

I stood up real quick and grabbed her wrist "Please, tell me, who was his first mate and why have I never heard of her." I noticed her eyes widened and she fell down on her knees crying.

"Please, forgive me Prince Lambereth." She stayed on her knees with her head down. I turned around quick to see Master Lambereth, his face was cold like he had been slapped in the face he raised his arm and beckoned for the guards I watching in horror as they grabbed my dear friend. 

he shoved me behind him and stepped towards Jenavieve "How dare you speak of her, and out of all people you tell my second chance mate! You ungrateful girl" he stood up straight "fifty lashes, and ten days in the cell no food or drink." He snarled

I let out a cry and walked in front of him placing my hands on his chest "Please, Master have mercy on her, its not her fault its mine, please don't she's my friend. She meant no harm.." I begged him and pleaded when I saw Myles and Algida watching with amused faces waiting to see what happens next "I'll take her punishments, punish me not her. Please!" He pushed me away and started to walk away.

"THIS ISN'T HOW YOU SHOULD TREAT YOUR SOON TO BE PEOPLE!" I screamed at him which made the guards and everyone else freeze. My Master turned around and looked at me with disgust and what seemed of hatred "Loosing someone the people all loved doesn't give you the right to hurt them for bringing someone they love and care about!." I know I should stop speaking but I couldn't all my anger came flooding out "My Father did the same thing that you are doing to the people, he didn't allow us to speak of my Mother unless he spoke about her first even than we weren't allowed to speak about it" I laughed coldly as if hysteria took over me as tears came to my eyes, I felt the wind pick up and it started to get dark out it was like it was storming but I put all my force forward "Funny right, my Father killed my Mother and yet we aren't aloud to speak of her. What kind of ruler are you if you act just like the King of the Wolves do." The guards hesitated waiting for Prince Lambereth to tell them to go everyone watched in horror as, the Wolf seemed to have caused a storm of some kind. 

Master Lambereth turned to her and watched her not even looking fazed by what she was doing he walked over to her and stood there with a cold look on his face "Let her go" he softly said it to where they could hear him and than looked at Ombre, and walked away and stepped into his car with Myles and Algida. As they drove off he looked back at Ombre, and saw the tears sprang from her eyes as she ran to her friend and fell to the ground crying while her friend comforted her and thanked her. The guards stood there stunned and than got themselves together and went back to there place.

The stormed went away as Ombre went back to planting and doing what she loved and talking with Jenaveive, they didn't mention her Mother or Master Lambereth's first mate they just laughed about school and everything that made them happy, Ombre, also found out that Jenaveive's parents where cruel to her and sold her to Prince Lambereth, because they thought she was worthless, that made Ombre, upset who sells a person, especially there own child, than her Father came into her mind in a way he was gonna sell her to Dice in a way. she frowned and than decided to go inside and dragged Jenaveive over to sit with her and have some lemonade when the Butler came outside.

"Ma'am, Master Lambereth is on the phone for you." he bowed and walked away.

She stood up as her nerves got the best of her after what she said before he left she felt bad, she slowly walked to the phone and answered "Master, I wanna just say.." before she could finish he cut her off.

"Ombre, out of all the stupid things you could do or say this has been the worse thing you have ever done, but your right, but that's not why I called, I called to tell you that I wont be back for along while, so you are in charge of the house and the household till I return, but you stay inside the property no matter what, do I make myself clear." and without waiting for a response he hung up the phone.

I hesitated and slowly put the phone down and went back out to where Jenaveive was "Jenaveive where do you stay?" She looked at me confused and than smiled.

"I stay in a little hut out over that hill where all the servants live, why you ask Ombre." She smiled and watched me closely. 

I stood up and called for the Butler "Could you please make up a room for Jenaveive, she is going to be staying inside with me, so I don't get lonely while my Master is at war, also make sure to get her some new clothes, she will be treated as a guest and not a servant and also, will be treated as my friend." With that the Butler smiled and nodded and went and made the preporations for her. 

"Ombre, you don't have to do that, I am happy where I am, what if Prince Lambereth comes back and find me inside, I don't want him to beat me Ombre, all the servants say he has the worse bite and torchers anyone who breaks the rules." I saw tears in her eyes and the fear on her face I smiled and knelt in front of her. 

"Jenaveive, he put me in charge of all of you and the house till he gets back and honestly, I feel in my heart as long as your with me he wont hurt you or even dare to raise a hand to you." I smiled and told her to come with me. We went to my room and I handed her some clothes and turned on the shower and told her to go bathe and that I would be back after I went and showered. 

I walked out of the room and into Master Lambereths room and stripped naked and went in his bathroom and bathed with his stuff. Just to smell like him and feel calm, I decided I would do this till he came back. After I was done, I walked into my room to find Jenaveive sitting on the bed waiting, I smiled and told her to follow me we went down and decided to watch a horror movie in the in door movie theater and order pizza "Jenaveive, how come all the servants here are human? Why hasn't he killed you all? I thought he hated humans and all?" I looked at her and saw the sadness on her face.

"They need someone to do the work, we have always been enslaved with them, some of us are blood wh**** others are like me or just work at restaurants here or are like my Parents rich and don't have to worry about the Vampires." She frowned and smiled "Wolves aren't any better they kill us on sight, but you Ombre are different from all of them." She smiled and laid on the pillow as the movie began to start, Ombre relaxed and watched the movie and fell asleep while the movies played. 

The next morning came and I woke to the Butler waking me "Ma'am, Master Lambereth is on the phone for you, also, what would you and Miss Jenaveive like for breakfast." he smiled and waited for me to answer.

"Just bring all sorts of food please, I don't know what all she likes." He smiled and nodded and left the room. 

I got up and walked to the phone "Hello, Master." I got excited that he called again till he said what came out of his mouth.

"Little one, my family is coming for dinner and I already told the Butler what to make and what to have prepared, I need you on your best behavior and treat them with respect if I hear you treated with utmost disrespect I'll have one of my brothers give you fifty lashes, do I make myself clear." I could hear the seriousness in his voice.

I smiled and relaxed "Yes, Master. Of course I'll behave, I'll treat them like I treat everyone else here." I stood there waiting for a response until the phone clicked and went dead. I sighed and walked back into the Theater room and saw Jenaveive smiling and looking at me, right as I sat back down the butler brought some food in I cleared my throat and looked at him. "Bret, I have a question for you, and I would like you to be honest." He looked at and nodded. 

"Is Master Lambereth, testing me with his parents coming for Dinner without him here?" I noticed that the Bret got uncomfortable with my question. 

"Ma'am, I suppose it is, but I am not sure." He smiled hesitantly and waited for me to let him go back to his duties. 

I nodded my head and smiled "Please have Jess lay out a dress for me please"  I looked at Jenaveive "I would invite you but I feel like I would be insult my Master and I don't want to be punished, I also dont want you uncomfortable. I'll have Dinner sent up later if that is alright with you?" I smiled at her hoping I didn't insult her.

She smiled at me "Ombre, thank you, I was hoping you wouldn't make me go, his family scares me, there nice but they can be cruel towards us sometimes." She smiled and started to eat, I laughed and joined her, when the Butler realized he could go he left the room. 

 Later the girls decided to go outside and swim for a bit and hangout by the pool to sun bathe, they where laughing and having fun when Ombre, looked up and saw the Butler walk in "Ma'am, its time to get ready for dinner the family should be arriving in a few hours, the bath is ready for you, and also, Jenaveive's food is already ready for her, in her room along with her tv and clothes and stuff." With that he turned and left I hugged Jenaveive and told her good night and to wish me luck. With that I headed to my room to prepare for a unforgettable moment, As she walked inside her room she sighed and realized the feeling of being unwanted in this family came back and landed in her heart making her feel like she couldn't breath she sighed and started to get ready for the dinner.
