Then another because somehow, those five words do something very unfortunate to my heartbeat.
Aurora gasps loudly before I can even respond and I have no choice but to gently drop her.

“Oh!” she gasps. “Does this mean you’re sleeping here again?”
I choke immediately, my eyes snapping to Eamon.
“What?”
Aurora looks deeply confused by my reaction as her eyes shift to Eamon while she balances her teddy on her hip. “You always sleep here in Hailey’s room before anytime you come back.”
