7:25 p.m.
Mar sat on the steps of the front porch of the cabin waiting for James and Cassandra.
“You called her?” James said, barreling away from Cassandra, wanting to put as much space between them as possible.
“Because I think at this point she’s the only one thinking straight.”
“Speak for yourself,” James said pushing past Mar and letting himself in. He walked down the long dark hallway and slammed the door of the master bedroom.
Mar hugged Cassandra and they went inside.
“Tell me you’ve heard from Sage?” Sabrina said, getting up from the couch. Her face was drawn and worried, and she looked torn between following James and staying where she was.
Mar and Cassandra both shook their heads.
“This isn’t a big deal, okay?” said Mar, going to the counter and putting the ke
