Oceania

Seraphina's POV It was already 1:05 in the afternoon when the plane landed in Iceland. It took me 15 hours to arrive here. Instead of feeling relieved, my heart and mind are still in distress because Naam's phone number has remained unavailable and even Hera and Aria couldn't reach her. I had been phoning her since yesterday, but she had not returned my calls. I even bombarded her with texts, phone calls, and voice mail, but she never responded. I don't know what her situation is at this moment or whether she's already in Navaro's dungeon. If something bad happens to Naam, I will really let her parents pay for it. A buzz in my hand made me take a pause. I instantly unlocked my phone in the hopes that Naam had sent me a message, but I was dismayed when it came from Hera rather than Naam. I breathed deeply and closed my phone as I picked up my luggage. I dash outside Keflavik Airport, and as predicted, a yellow Mustang is already parked in front of the airport, waiting for me. Hera and Aria instantly got out of the car and met me halfway. "Did Naam answer your call?" Hera enquired as she assisted me with my luggage full of money that I had brought with me just in case. I shook my head in response as each of us entered the car. I glanced at my wristwatch after Hera started the engine. It'll only take 15 minutes before we reach Oceania from here and I'm more than eager to see and find out Naam's situation. Not long after, we had passed the signage of the pack. My hands suddenly quiver as my face heats up. The quiet trees in the roadstead could not even soothe me, and the placid road couldn't stop the seething madness within. "What are we going to do now?" Aria asked after she parked the car in front of Naam's house. I stared at the old ancient house for a brief moment and felt an emptiness in it. "We should comfort Naam's parents first and ask them where Naam is right now," I suggested, to which Aria and Hera agreed. The three of us exited the car and headed towards the rusted gate. Aria pushed the doorbell four times before someone opened the gate. When Naam's mother realized who had arrived, a horrified expression appeared on her face. Her eyes widened in astonishment as she moved the gate to close it, but our hands pushed it through, preventing the door from shutting. "This is trespassing!" she commented, trying to shove our hands. When she realized she couldn't seal it, she chose to flee towards the house. I instantly looked at Aria and motioned her to stop the woman from going into the house, which she did right away. Naam's mother was forcibly stopped from entering as the vines drew her back to where we were standing. "Where is Naam?" I gently asked, trying to negotiate. However, she didn't respond. Instead, she kept wiggling and shouting harassment. "We won't do any harm as long as you tell us where Naam is," Hera uttered while staring at the woman. We were still investigating and scrutinizing the woman when someone came out. The primary cause of this problem— Naam's father. His age is obvious, yet his manner screams ruthlessness. His white beard and lengthy white hair contribute to his evil appearance. I couldn't help but feel utterly repulsed as I stared at the man. "What did these puny she-wolves do here?" he asked his wife, sarcastically. He was speaking in a contemptuous tone, as if we were nothing more than an inferior she-wolf. "They came here to look out for Namaka." After hearing his wife's response, the man burst out laughing like a freaking weirdo. After that, his cold eyes bore straight at us, a kind of glare that could pierce our soul. "Uh, you want to be Namaka's replacement as the Emperor's s*x slave?" he mocked while he moved in our direction. I instantly tapped Hera's back to stop the man from closing the distance, and Hera understood the assignment right away. A block of prickly ice appeared in between, prompting the man to grind to a standstill or he'd get sliced. "Where is Naam?" I inquired again, now in a more serious manner. We don't come here to play. I need a definite answer so my soul will be put at peace. "That ungrateful child left without doing what she was supposed to do; you being here is pointless because Namaka isn't here already," the man responded. Namaka managed to flee? I'm relieved by the thought, but I'm also concerned. If Namaka escaped, that meant she'd go, rogue. Will she be able to survive the life of a rogue? I shook my head at the thought; the rogue's life is far too cruel for someone who is so kind and gentle. Naam cannot handle it. She might be very scared now roaming in the woods alone. But what worries me more is the fact that she might encounter a bad guy or perhaps she might trespass on a pack. I glance at the man who doesn't appear to be upset about his daughter fleeing. My rage began to boil to the point that I could see red. "How evil can you be to sell your daughter and let her become a s*x slave? Can you sleep at night knowing that your daughter fled because of your own doings and you're here blaming Naam for the things that parents should have done in the first place? Isn't it your responsibility to give your child security rather than letting her work to give you food to eat?" I spat angrily. "You don't deserve Naam as much as you don't deserve to live!" Hera and Aria try to calm me down but I'm all heated up. "This is a family matter, and you have no say in my decision; stay in your zone and don't meddle with us," the man muttered, displeasure was evident in his eyes. However, he is totally mistaken. Namaka is a friend of mine, and I consider them family. Therefore, Naam's problem is also mine. In a fit of wrath, I swiftly melted the barrier and hurled a ball of flame in his direction. "You don't deserve to be a father," I said angrily. The man let forth a burst of water from his hand as he wetted the burnt region on his chest. I forgot that Naam's father was also a water cultivator, which Naam inherited naturally. He smirks after ceasing the flame, mocking me for not being able to beat him. He began manipulating the water, forming a loop in front of him. Naam's father was ready to launch his raging water in my way when Hera created another ice barrier, blocking the water from passing through reversing the pathway. Hera then increased the ice, trapping the man inside an ice cage. I immediately fell on my knees as tears streamed down my face. I feel guilty. "How are we going to find Naam?" I whispered tiredly. Hera and Aria went in my direction, giving me comfort. The two remained silent since neither of them knew where they could find Naam. "I will command my wind to look out for Naam, Ember. Let's just hope it can trace her scent." "I will also command the bird to help, Ember." I am Naam's close friend, but I felt useless. At this very crucial moment, my power cannot do anything to save her. I failed Naam. Hera and Aria helped me stand up. My gaze was unconsciously drawn to the silhouette of a man trapped within the ice. I desperately wanted to kill him, but I knew Naam wouldn't approve. Despite the fact that her parents abused her, she loved them. That's how kind and understanding she is, to the point of allowing others to trample her. My attention shifted away from the now-quiet woman who had been extremely noisy earlier. Her eyes are pulled to the ground, and her expression is filled with remorse. Has she only realized now what they have done to Naam? "What are we going to do with them?" Aria said, her gaze shifting back and forth between Naam's mother and father. "Let them stay in that position for one hour," Hera suggested, to which I agreed. An hour is a lighter punishment compared to the sin they committed. If I were to decide, the world would be better off without these kinds of people. They deserve to die. That's the judgment I'd make if I were a judge. "What are we going to do now?" "Perhaps we might look for Naam in the woods, or maybe we should find a boarding house where we can stay tonight," Aria said as we stepped out the gate. "I'll look out for Naam while you two look for a boarding house or apartment," I whispered softly enough for them to hear it. "I'll accompany you." Aria and I exchanged glances with Hera. "It's best if you have company, Ember; we're not very familiar here, and what if you encounter someone nasty out there?" "Me, too," Aria responded as she raised her hand. "How about a place for us to stay?" I said. If the three of us go looking for Naam, who will lookout for a place to stay? Hera suddenly pursed her lips into a smile and lifted her right brow in a repetitive movement while motioning to Naam's house. I creased my forehead as my brows furrowed. I get it. The three of us decided to drive into the woods while nature accompanied us in finding Naam.
