A foreign growl woke Fia from her slumber as she felt a searing pain on the bite area. She was currently placed on her stomach with a pillow blocking her view of those around her. “Why are you making her bleed” an unknown voice boomed out. It was a male and from the tone she guessed an alpha. Rolling her eyes, she was about to turn and respond when she heard Poppy’s voice squeak out, “to ensure all the wolfsbane is out of her system, the best way to ensure a successful treatment it is to bleed the remaining poison out of her system. She heals quickly so by piercing her every thirty minutes for twenty four hours, we will guarantee the poison has left her body. I only prick her where the bite marks were so she won’t bleed out... it’s the best practise to heal.”
Fia felt a swell of emotions as she was proud of her Mentee standing up to an alpha. Why would he care how she was healing. She would assist in cleaning any mess they made once she was back to normal. “It’s barbaric” the male answered in a low growl. “Alpha, we shouldn’t question their healing abilities, it’s what they specialise in.....” another male voice... this one clearly softer but also held some power. A clear beta. “I’ll do as I please,” the alpha growled, making Willow mad. She had heard enough.
Turning her head, she looked at the three figures next to her. Poppy was the closest to her, a slim seventeen year old girl with her mousey hair tied up in a neat bun. She wore her white robe, which was covered in grass, herb and blood stains. Fia groaned internally, she would need to lecture her later on her appearance outside the sanctuary. Her bright blue eyes reflected fear as she looked at the muscled god of a man who sat next to her. He looked to be in his late twenties, with a tight lined jaw and furrowed brows as he observed the actions that were taking place. He had black hair, cut short and the beginnings of a beard growing in. His eyes were a light grey, which reminded Fia of the fog that would cover the sanctuary on a cold morning, blocking her view of the world around them. He wore a black shirt with the top two buttons undone, which from up close it seemed to be wrinkled which made her wonder how long he had be sitting there. Next to him a man, who appeared to be in his thirties with salt and pepper hair and bright blue eyes that looked apologetically at Poppy. He was quite fit looking but maybe half a foot shorter than the man next to him. He wore a white shirt and a blue tie and out of the three was clearly the best presented.
Fia took a deep breath in and was about to scold the alpha, when she sniffed the air and felt her stomach do a flip. The scent of the sea breeze made her eyes dilate slightly. What was going on? She had never felt this way before. Her wolf lifted its head and began to wag her tail. “Mate,” she howled as she stood up and began to move frantically around.
That’s impossible, she growled at her wolf, we took the oath, we don’t feel the mates bond. “Well that’s him... I can sense his wolf.... he wants us... he’s ours!” Her wolf was dancing on the spot. Something must be up, she thought before the foggy memory of a voice asking her to change her path came from her dreams. Fia began to start her internal struggle, What have I gotten myself into? Is it too late to take it back?
“Fia?” Poppy spoke before she could get out her words, “are you ok?” You look a bit frazzled.
