Chapter Fourteen

880 Words
As the girls returned to the pack House, Fia was shown to a room next to Poppys. It was a simple set up with a bed in the left hand corner, a desk with her belongings on the right with a chair. Next to the door was a walk in wardrobe, currently empty. A large window faced above the desk, showing the trees and grass, giving off a sense of comfort and familiarity to Fia.  Placing her bags down in the wardrobe, Serena said she had to go as Logan was probably struggling with their “little gremlin.” The girls hugged and Fia thanked her for all her help. They organising their next get together and Serena left, leaving Fia to finally have a moment to herself.    Moving to the desk, she sat and observed her belongings untouched. Smiling to herself she moved to open her herb bag, placing her scales, crusher, bowls and spoons in front of her. They were a gift from the Elder when she swore in and considered them her only treasure. She began organising the herbs she brought and worked on blending to help Sophia and her breathing and/or seizures.    Within moments, Fia had become lost in her work and only noticed a change in scenery when she realised she was working in the dark. Turning on a desk light next to her, she continued her work, that is.. until she had heard a rough knock on the door.    Alex POV:   “She’s been up in her room a while, have you checked on her?” Logan smiled as he turned to his Alpha watching set up the finishing touches as they reset the office space. Alex huffed and growled at Logan’s meddling but looked at the clock and notice that it was after 10 pm. Had she eaten? He wondered as he placed the reorganised papers back on the table. “You know, she’s not a princess in a tower, you can go see her.” Logan spoke as he placed the cushions on the new couch that arrived from storage that afternoon. It was identical to the other one except for the newness of it. They had agreed on buying five after the first office destruction after Elaines death. The rest were kept in a storage facility until they were needed as it was evident that Alexander still had his moments.    Alex looked at Logan for a moment before deciding to go check on her. “You didn’t decide this” he said as he felt Logans smile creep up as he moved to the door. “I don’t want to hear a word. “Aye Aye, my Capitan!” Logan said as he watched Alex go up the stairs. Listening to his footsteps along the floorboards.    When moving to her room, Alex felt his steps get shorter and shorter. The hallway seemed to extend and it felt like he would never get there. It was only when he reached her door did he take a moment. He could sense her presence on the other side which made his wolf howl in anticipation. He wanted to take over, to break down the door and claim her for himself. He could barely withstand his urges and this irked him.    Taking a deep breath to take back control, he knocked on her door. A shuffle of movements was heard and within a minute, there she was, in front of him, the door opened and her aura overstimulating his wolf. Her hair was down, cascading over her shoulders, down to her waist, her bright blue eyes bearing into his soul, her soft pink lips were close enough for him to take a step and…. No… he needed to clear his head. “Ummm… food? Have you eaten?” was all he could come out with. His wolf growling at his idiocy. Within thirty seconds of him speaking, her stomach growled, causing her to blush. Alex smiled when seeing her blush, taking her hand out of reflex and pulling her close. “I’ll take that as a yes then, little healer.” He ran his spare hand up her neck, stopping at her chin, tilting her head up slightly. Her skin was warm and soft, leading him down a dark path of lust.    He felt her swallow and his senses tingled, running his head next tohers and planting kisses on her mating spot. She gasped but stood back, her body shaking slightly as if he had wounded her. Feeling the haze dissipate, Alex blushed and looked down in shame. “I’m so sorry... I don’t know what came over me.”    She seemed wary but shook her head. “No need,” the two remained in silence until her stomach growled again in hunger. “So… food?” Alex said with a weak smile. “Food!” Fia nodded. Fia shut the door behind her and the two walked in silence towards the kitchen.   What is happening to me, Alex growled internally only to hear his wolf chuckle in glee. He clearly enjoyed taking over and causing a show. He should have known he would do something like this. Betrayed by my own inner wolf… he thought, looks like I’m going to have to put you on a tighter leash. With a growl in response, Alex smiled to himself. He was going to take this at his and Fias own pace, their wolves weren’t going to push them into anything.
