As the wind howled and the rain hit the ground hard, two wolves ran full speed through no mans land. Their claws dig into the soft soil, leaving paw prints behind them. They were nearing their destination and were adamant in reaching their location before the sun came up. Lightning lit up the sky around them and gave them a clear view of trouble. Five wolves ran after them, clearly trying to stop them from reaching their goal. Snarls and growls were cancelled out by the roll of thunder that followed the streaks of light in the sky.
A black wolf growled low as she mind-linked with the smaller tanned wolf, ordering her to run ahead and call for help. The tanned wolf looked at the black wolf for assurance before feeling her push the wolf forward with her head and taking a bite from one of the rogues. Releasing a howl in pain, the female black wolf moved to defend herself, protecting the tanned wolfs path and forcing the rogues to concentrate on her.
The rogues began to circle the black wolf and without warning, a large chocolate brown wolf lashed out to take another bite in the already injured leg. Sharp pain ran up and down her leg, causing another howl to erupt from the wolves mouth. She knew she was out numbered but she also knew she was near the neighbouring packs territory and could hold out hope for help.
Taking a deep breath, she ran forward and took on the chocolate wolf, running her claws on his back legs, immobilising him. Snarls erupted as the smallest of other four wolves began to pounce on the lone wolf, landing successfully and scratching her back up bad. Grunts and snarls escaped her as flung her back against a trees trunk, causing the smaller white wolf to take the brunt force and fall to the ground. Turning quickly, she was ready to defend herself until her last breath when another flash of lightning lit up the trees around them and a familiar face became visible for a split second. Opening her mouth she was about to call out when the three wolves ran at her, ready to give the final blows and end her life. Steading herself, she readied for the fight until three large grey wolves ran out from behind her and attached themselves each to a rogue wolf. Taking the moment to look again, it was evident that the familiar figure had disappeared once more.
Feeling a tightness in her chest, the black wolf dropped to the ground and curled up, the pain in her leg and back intensifying. After two minutes of convulsing in pain, the wolf shifted to a woman who looked to be in her mid twenties with raven black hair and pale porcelain skin. Her yellow eyes gleamed in the darkness as she observed the wolves fight around her, her body burned as a familiar presence came beside her. She turned to see the tanned wolf next to her, showing worry in her eyes. Smiling weakly, she patted its head, recognising the good job she had done. “I need one more favour Flower,” her voice fading and the shadows took her sight? “you need the get the ingredients to cure wolfs bane...” with her final words, she passed out, letting the pain wash over and take her consciousness with it.
