Chapter 13

Zinnex's POV

It's been quite some time since I breakup with Clyde and shot the bullseye like shooting his heart. 

It's been quite some time since I last time wore those tight ill heels and walked around.

It's been quite time I spent with Prince Agrona himself.

It's been some time.... before King Bergstrom yelled at me....

"Beg your pardon?" I asked Agrona who brought me to his office full of knowledge earlier. "My nerdy brother eventually told Father about the several visits you made to the training field. He gone furious and wanted to have a talk with you." Agrona repeat what he said earlier.

"Seriously , what's your brother's problem?" I uttered softly as he laughed crazily , "Seems like I'm not the only one hates Alaistair." He said as he continue laughing. 'Why does his laugh was so attracting by the second?!' I thought as my soul flew around my brain. 

"...nex? Zinnex? Paiogs to Zinnex?" I shook my head as I heard a snap of a finger in front of my face. I looked up and found Agrona who was already in front of me. "h-Huh?" "You heard me? You had to deal with Father we should be going." 

Ugh , why do I gotta deal with that monster? "Then...what should I do?" "Probably get some brain juice for your dummy head."He said while pressing his finger on my forehead and smiled as he lead me out to face the most deadly faith.

"So.... According to what my eldest son said ," King Bergstrom said while playing with some fresh walnuts in his paws , ", You skipped several maiden classes and instead , you join my soldiers of Paiogs?" I looked at him with a nervous nod. "What female you got for yourself , Agrona? She wasn't the type." He said while broke open a walnut shell and tossed the trash to me.

But instead got hit by the harmless nut shell , I was blocked with Agrona's hand in front of me with his fist crunched the shell into dust. "You can't made me to change my mind. She's the one." While King Bergstrom was being angry by his actions , Queen Iyuna was awing by his protective over me.

"Agrona , have you a tapeworm in your brain? She was disobeying with my rules. And she wasn't doing it." "Yes , Father. But she did. She tried to , but she was hurt. I can't bear to see more." he said while pulled me close into his arms. His eyes was fueled with rage and protective.

"Are you being protective over an Antiure who's going to turn into a knight of yours instead of a maiden?" I looked at the king , who then continue his sentence with ,"She's just a daughter of a businessAntiure. Who knows if your father or Baron Langford , lost all of his valuable and became a peasant?" I curled up my fist and stood in front of Agrona.

"Beg your pardon , your majesty. But that sounds nothing but rudeness in your tone. You couldn't possibly learn manners , right? If you do , please insult my father." I said full of boldness. King Bergstrom smacked his arm on the arm of the throne as he walked down and stood in front of me.

"Were you teaching me manners?" "If you thought so , yes." I answered as I dodge away from his claw out paw. "Ugh , very unladylike. I have no idea if I got myself a knight or a fine maiden as a daughter-in-law. Your father must be a shame for such daughter." He uttered as Queen Iyuna walked next to him and calming his crazy dog down , leaving me and Agrona alone in the throne room. 

"Zinnex?" "Gosh...I just messed everything up.... I embarrassed myself in the king's eyes." I uttered while grabbing my hair. "No...cheer up Zinnex. It will be fine." "N-No , I'm not , Agrona! I couldn't be escort back to Lionards. I can't face him. I can't face you...." I whispered softly as he grabbed me by the arm. I moved his hands away from mine. "No....I just like how you are now. You don't have to change." "No.... I already failed at the finish line , Agrona , " I said while walked backwards away from Agrona , "Now , I just need a moment for myself...."

I said while walked away from Agrona who's still screaming out my name.

Right now , I was seated on the couch of the shared room. By the time now , it's the time for royal maiden lessons or the arrow shooting. But , I chose not to participant in both. I was confused by the sentence the king had left for me. 

'Ugh , very unladylike. I have no idea if I got myself a knight or a fine maiden as a daughter-in-law. Your father must be a shame for such daughter.'

'Did I brought disgrace to the Langford family?' 

'Am I not ladylike? I mean , I have spent most of my lifetime in training instead learning to grab a teacup.'

I groaned as I walked to my case and pulled out the little cactus flower from my case. As long as I stared at the flower , flashbacks kept coming in my head....

*Flashback*

"Was this from Momma?" 5 years old me asked while placed my head on Father's arm who had a small flower in his grasp.

"Yes...And she wants you to have it darling." He said while placed it next to my ears. "Say thanks to Momma!" I said while smiling innocently. I was 5 , I have no idea with the definition of death. So , father told me that my mom was hibernating.

Kind lies, thanks dad.

I did went to show off to Mrs. Jumbo , who the mention that the flower was a undying one and it represents warmth, protection, and motherly love. "Momma sure love me right?" "You came out from her flesh. She must love you to the North Pole." Mrs. Jumbo said while I ran off to show off to my friends. But , instead they laughed me and said that flower was worthless. 

I turned out fought with them , causing them to be a bit earlier to receive a adult teeth. I was grounded in the house and gotta help the maids to do the farming. At first , I was very, utterly disagree with this till father said....

"Know your place , could you?! You have to stop messing around."

While doing my hoe-ing job in the early morning , I hummed a little song , getting the tiredness out of me.

"Guess by now I ought know my place~ Do your humble duty with a smile on your face~  Father knows how much I love him~ But he's always doing other things~ So I'll keep waiting in the wings~"

*Flashback Ends*

"I crave so much~ And yet I kept on waiting~ One glance, one touch~ And I just kept on waiting~, " I hummed as I placed the flower on my chest , "And when it came, it came with strings~" I hummed while touched the petals softly.

"So I kept waiting in the wings~"

While I'm spending the time for myself , I was interrupted by a clap. i turned and found Queen Iyuna behind me with a mother smile. "If I didn't bust in your chamber , I wouldn't know you have such nice singing." "Q-Q-Queen Iyuna!" She walked to me with a smile upon her face as she placed her palm on my shoulder , "Just Iyuna will be enough , darling. Besides....," She said while pulled me into an embrace , ruffling my hair , "YOU AND AGRY LOOKED SO ADORABLE ESPECIALLY WHEN HE PROTECT YOU FROM MY HUSBAND!!!!" 

Sigh...She's the simp queen.....

"So...your majesty...or Iyuna , what brings you to my room?" I asked Iyuna who's having her a sip of tea , "Look , I'm sorry for what my husband said , I believe he didn't mean it." "I-It's alright. I-I just gone frustrated if I should be what people told me. I mean , I have spent most of the time training. But for Agrona to be king , I would do i- I mean-" I turned to her majesty who had a face of excitement , "You... really rather choose to be a maiden to give up all soldier training?! Just for Agrona?" "Possibly. But , I just... I never like the royal maiden lessons. They're too painful and boring." I said while my tail and ears flopped down.

Iyuna moved her way to me , making my guard up inside , since I have no idea if she's a friendly Paiogs. She then pulled me into an embrace , uttered , "I understand. Not to lie , I have experience something similar like yours." My eyes widened as I looked at her ,"You.....once have soldier lessons?" "You won't believe  , I do. Till I engaged to King Bergstrom himself , I have remained my maiden self , till this day."

I looked at her and looked back to my feet , thinking if that's going to happen on me if I actually- what am I thinking about? That's impossible. "Look , I know Bergstrom hate you by now since he had his father's traditional mind , which was 'A Maiden Should Know Her Place'. But , " She said while placed her hand on mine , "We females have a brain too. And we know our place , much more than the males."

"Are you...teaching me to revolt with the king himself?" I asked as she laughed and even made a small howl. "N-No , darling. I was teaching you to be yourself. Paiogs needed a change of mind. If you were questioned between a knight or a maiden , why don't we choose to be two of them?" I looked at her , being questioned by this suggestion. "I-" 

Before I can said anything , a knight busted in and announced an emergency ,"The Chyenas were here , my majesty!" "Why?" Iyuna questioned. "No clue , but Prince Agrona and King Bergstrom had requested your majesty and Lady Zinnex to remain in shelter."

"But...I thought most guards on Paiogs was escorted to other nations to protect the alliance between?!" 'I had no clue with that , Lady Zinnex." I stood up from my seat as I yelled , "I'm going to help!" "But Prince Agrona had ordered us to guard the doors of your chamber , Lady Zinnex. In order to protect you." 

What?! That jellyjerk!!

 "AWWW , MY AGRY WAS BEING PROTECTIVE OVER HIS MAIDEN~~" Once again , Queen Simp had returned. Then , Iyuna placed her hand on my shoulder as she uttered in my ear. "You know what to do. Agrona needs help. Prove it to my husband."

As the guard closed and even locked my doors , I opened my closet , looked at them , 

'It's time.'

Agrona's POV

"Well , well , if it isn't a historical moment. The king and prince of Paiogs was cornered by some wild Chyenassss~" The new leader of Chyenas said as Father and I were cornered to a tree. I have never thought that we'll be outnumbered. 

"Glad to be sacrifice for my nation." "Father , don't talk such thing. We will get out here." I encouraged father as the leader laughed. "I like to see you , Prince Agrona."The leader said while scratched Father by the stomach , causing him to bleed terribly by the stomach and even fell onto the ground. "Father! You..." "Boys , you know what to do." As the leader command , the other Chyenas approached to us with their mouth drooling.

'This might be the end...'

"Hold yourself , gentleman." They turned and- "Zinnex! What are you doing here?!" Zinnex walked out from the shadows with a fan covering her face. She was dressed in armour and black pop socks with heels she usually wore. A red dress was tied around her waist , revealing her thigh and her hair was tied in ponytail with a red ribbon. 'Well , Well , if it's a maiden that Prince Agrona had? Do you have any idea how gorgeous you look , and how much we matched?" The leader said while walked and touched her cheek.

"I know how gorgeous I looked and...," She said while stepped the leader by the foot , '..I know how much you have dehydrated from brain juice." She said while pulled her red dress that soon became a belt and white shorts was found and so was a sword belt. "Wanna play? Let's play this fun."

"What are you waiting for?! Get her!" The leader yelled as the boys being confused by which order should they follow. "I think I will give a hand for you to let them decide faster." She said while pulled a crossbow from nowhere and shot a member directly by the heart. 

"Get her! You imbeciles!" The boys soon ran to her. "Zinnex! Watch out!" "Oh...You boys just made the biggest mistake..." She said while pulled out her sword and started to attack them. Some how , her attacks was much more better than the usual days when she had training with me.

She managed to dodge from every scratch and the Chyenas was soon slain by her sword and claws. She licked the blood on her claws and looked at the leader who's eyes was reflect with fear and rage. She walked to him with her close folded fan. She looked at him as she slapped him by the face. "Such a rude man. Do you know a man shouldn't be attack a maiden? Not to mention , her family members." She said while pulled out her sword and stabbed it into his throat.

"Farewell , sir." She bowed sarcastically as the leader loss his breath. 

"Was King Bergstrom alright?!" She yelled which make me off guard. "Your father was bleeding terribly! we had to get Osiris now!"

"I managed to bring him out from the blood loss situation. He should be awake by minutes." "Phew , thanks , Osiris." Zinnex thanked him as Osiris suddenly examined the blood on her dress and armour. "Do you need a bath , Lady Zinnex?" "Yeah s-" "Sorry , but this young lady needed an explanation." As Osiris dismissed himself , I grabbed Zinnex by the arm and started yelling in her face.

"Do you have any idea what are you doing?! Do you know that you're gonna to get yourself killed?!" "I know , Agrona , " She said while placed her hands on my cheek , saying with a smile  , "But I can't bear to see my family hurt by some stray Anitures." I chuckled as I pulled her into an embrace , she soon hugged back. 

As soon as I realised I had blood stained on her cheek , by my blood-like nature , I leaned down and licked her cheek , feeling the taste of her prey and sweat. "Do you two had to make out to wake me up?" I turned and found who's already awake. "F-father.." "So , she had decided to be your knight?" Rigth when I was going to start a debate with Father , Zinnex walked in front of me , stopping me.

"NO , Sir. I have not decided to be a knight , " She looked won to her feet , taking a deep breath as she announced , "I had decided to be both!"

'What?!" "Zinnex! Have you gone more dumb?!" "I'm serious , Agrona! Even I had to follow King Bergstrom's order , but I won't stop chasing my dreams! But of course, I will manage my time better for royal maiden lessons and also soldier lessons." She smiled as she answered Father's question.

"Sir , you see , if you agree , Paiogs will have a new recruit soldier and if Agrona was crowned king , he had a queen by his side to help him out." Zinenx said , hoping Father to allow such request.

"Please Father. Not to mention , Zinnex was the one who defeat the group of Chyenas , by herself! Just please father?" "Oh right , as long as she managed her time well." Zinnex smiled like the sun after the rain as she bowed , thanking Father.

"So , how did you get out from the doors I guarded?" 'Well , there's a door called balcony , Agrona." I hummed by her response ,

"Guess I have to lock there too."

"Don't you dare!"
