Chapter 11

780 Words
"Where's Uncle?" Zach asked as I Iet him in the house, "out of town, I'm having cereal today," I said, he nods his head, "I'm fine with that," he said. I tell him to take a seat as I pull out two bowls and spoons along with the only cereal in the house. "You enjoy your cereal dry?" He asked looking down at the bowls of dry cereal, "you don't?" I asked looking at him as I stand back up and opened the fridge to grab some milk for him, "normal people eats their cereal with milk," he said as he poured some milk in his bowl. I shrug my shoulder, "my older sisters and I always ate cereal dry when we were younger, we would be lucky if there was enough milk for all of us but that rarely happened. We got used to eating cereal dry," I said. "Sorry to hear that," he said, "it's fine, we actually moved here when I was in middle school, my first home was at my grandmother's place. Then we moved here when my mom got a job offer here," I said, pausing as I look at him, "I'll tell you more next time," I said with a smile. We ate in silence and once we finished Zach said, "grab your things, I'll wash the dishes while you do so," I nod my head, "okay," I said as I went up the stairs to grab my backpack and his helmet before going down, "where's your jacket?" He asked after a few minutes as he comes out of the kitchen, "had it washed yesterday, it's a bit hot today so I'll manage," I said as I put on my helmet. "I've been meaning to ask," Zach said as we walk towards his motorcycle, "what?" I said looking at him as I put on my backpack properly, "you always wear that red jacket, was it given to you by your dad?" He asked, "no, I just bought it off a thrift store and really liked it," I said. "Huh." "Why do you ask?" I said as he got on the motorcycle, and putting his hand out, I grab hold of it as I got on his bike as he said, "I mean, I thought, like after knowing you more, I thought that it would have some sentimental value." "In a way it does," I said as I put my hands on top of his shoulder, "it was the first thing I bought with my own money," I said as I smiled to myself. He nods his head before we drove off. Arriving at school I hand him my helmet, "do you mind if we go grocery shopping later before our tutor session?" I asked, "sure under one condition," he said as we made our way inside the school building. I look at him, "what?" "Tell me something random about yourself," he said as we stop in front of my locker, I thought about it as I grab a few books out of my locker and he held it for me, "hey El," I turn to see Sebastian grabbing my books from Zach as he stood beside Zach, "hi, how did you sleep last night?" I asked, "it was exhausting," he said. I laugh a little as I pat his cheek, "oh so sad of you," I said before taking a good look at Sebastian and Zach, "I don't understand how I just realized this but your really tall," I said looking at Zach, "I mean your even a couple inches taller than Sebastian." "What can I say, I got some good genes," he said pushing his hair back, I cringe at him before closing my locker shut. "So?" Zach said, "so what?" I asked, "something random," he said, "ohh." I thought about it as we walk towards my first class, "you know the twirling thing in ballet, when she has a partner with her to support her continuous twirling, his hands on her waist?" I said, he thought about it but his face still looks confused, "search it up, anyway, I think the way the guy puts his hands on her waist for support looks so elegant at the same time to curling if one were to experience it out of nowhere," I said just as the bell rings. I grab my books from Sebastian who looks confused, "you look confused, but talk to you later, I still have class and your running late to yours," I said, "see you later at lunch, see you Son," I said turning to Zach who also looks confused, I frown a little before going inside the classroom.
