Red Jacket And A Can Of Soda

Chapter 10

"Hey, sorry I wasn't able to pick you up today," Sebastian said standing beside my locker, "it's fine, dad was happy to send me off to school," I said as I gave him my books, he looks at me, "what?" I asked looking down at my shirt.

"It's a bit chilly today, why didn't you wear your red jacket?" He asked, "Zach," I said slamming my locker shut, "that i***t borrowed my jacket last Friday. Get this, we were together all afternoon till evening, by the way Luke and I talked things over last Friday and were good now, anyway, Zach offered to drive me home because it was getting late when we finished our waffle, by late I mean six o'clock and he wanted to go that party of Bianca. Then when we arrived at home, he asked to borrow my jacket, I asked why, he said that it's weird for him to go to a party in the same clothes he was wearing at school earlier that day. I lend him my jacket and surprisingly it fits him, anyway he said in exchange of me letting him borrow my jacket, I'll keep his helmet."

I take a deep breath after talking all of that in one breath, "so where's the helmet?" Sebastian asked as we stop in front of my first class, "at home, he said to bring it at school tomorrow," I said as I grab my books from him.

"Son," I turned around to see Zach jogging towards me, wearing my red jacket, "do you know how chilly it is today?" I said, he laughs as he takes off the jacket, "sorry, I did try to arrive at school as soon as I can," he said as he grabs my books and hand me my jacket, I quickly put it on, a quick swift of his cologne hits my nose as I feel how warm the jacket is from his body heat, I hug myself, "ahh so warm," I mumbled before grabbing my books from Zach.

"Thank you for bring my jacket back," I said to Zach before turning to Sebastian, "your mom texted me that she's bringing lasagna later, make sure to get it before it gets cold," I said, he laughs a little before nodding his head, "yes ma'am."

I turn to Zach again, "can you pick me up tomorrow?" I asked, he raise an eyebrow, "I have your helmet at home, Seb can't pick me up all through out the week because of something personal, I don't really like being dropped off by dad since he won't have someone drive with him on the way home," I explained.

Zach glanced at Sebastian before looking back at me, "of course, I'll gladly pick you up and drop you off," he said with a smile, "thanks, you can have breakfast at my house, depending on the day it just varies from pancakes, oats, toast or cereal."

He nods his head, "I'm good with that, I'll see you later at lunch," he said, I put a hand on his shoulder, "don't think you'll get some of my lasagna later, his mom baked it specifically for me, not him," I said, pointing my thumb at Sebastian, he laugh as he nods his head, "okay got it, I promise not to take some of your food later."

"Good."

"But I'll steal some tomorrow," he said as he leaves, laughing, "hey," I yelled just as the bell rings, I look at Sebastian, "see you later at lunch."

The day went by fast and before I know it, it was already time to head home, "El," Sebastian calls out as I exit the school building, "I'll drop you off on my way to work," he said, "okay," I said as he walks ahead of me, putting my backpack on properly I then jump on his back, "I'll go with you to work, there's two movies I wanna see today," I said as I hug his neck.

"What about Uncle? Your not having dinner with him?" He asked as he holds me properly from under the knees, "he's out of town as of this afternoon, went to visit grandma," I said as he opens the passenger door and set me down before going to the driver's side.

"Oh he's out of town till when?" He asked, "Thursday? I'm not sure but it always depends on how grandma is," I said as I put my seatbelt on, "why didn't you go with him?"

Before I can answer someone suddenly knocks on my window, I turn to see Zach there, I open the window, "something wrong?" I asked, "you got the main role in the musical," Zach said with a huge smile, "what? Really? Oh my God, I forgot the results will be out today, I was too focused on my jacket all weekend," I said as I quickly unbuckle my seatbelt and got out of the car, running back in the school building with Sebastian and Zach right behind me.

Looking at the list on the bulletin board, I let out a shriek as saw my name on the top, "I got the leading role," I said to Sebastian as I gave him a hug, "I got the leading role," I said to Zach as I also give him a hug.

"Congrats Son," Zach said hugging me back, I grin as I pull out my phone and took a picture of the list, "congrats El," Sebastian said.

"Thank you, ahh I really deserve a movie break," I said with a grin as I send the picture to dad, "I can't wait for the musical."
