"What are you doing here?" I asked, "I think you forgot about something, I was the one who discovered this place first," Lucas said pointing a finger to himself, "yeah right," I said as I pull Zach and we both sat down on an empty table.
"Who's that?" Zach asked, "Luke," I said, he glanced behind us to get a good look of Lucas, "who is Luke?" He asked, "her number one fan," Lucas said sitting down across from me.
"Luke or Lucas, is the mayor's youngest son, remember the story about the west side lake? His father owns that side of town," I said, he nods his head before looking at Lucas, "I'm Zachary Thompson, you can call me Zach," Zach said putting his hand out, "you can call me Luke, you have two older brother's right? I've seen them around when I was younger," Lucas said.
"Nobody asked," I said, Lucas raise an eyebrow at me, "it was one mistake," he said looking at me, "dude, you were dating my sister when you called me all of a sudden and asked if I wanted s*x," I said, "one time."
I look at him in disgust, just as a waiter came over our table, "here are the menus," she said handing us each a menu, I look over the menu before saying, "chicken and waffles with vanilla ice cream on the side," I said as Zach looks at me, "ice cream? Again?" He said.
"It's treat myself, I'm gonna have whatever I want," I said before peeking over at his menu, "you should try the chicken and waffles or you could also have their chocolate chip waffles with whipped cream, maple syrup and fresh strawberries on top," I said with a grin looking at him, "I'll have the same thing as she does but instead of vanilla ice cream I'll have a vanilla milkshake," he said grabbing my menu before giving it to the waiter, "and you?" She asked looking at Lucas.
"Oh no, he's not with us," Zach said, "he suddenly sat with us but he's not with us, do you mind doing something about it?"
Lucas gave Zach a glare before saying that he wants a chocolate milkshake along with a chicken and waffle, "El, forgive me, please," he said.
"Lucas, you were dating my sister and asked me if I wanted to f**k you, do you honestly think that I will just forgive and forget after you being the reason why my sister barely talks to me now?" I said, he bites his lip, "honestly though if dad finds out that your back he would have thrown those watermelons at your house."
"El, I made a mistake, I apologized to you and your sister. I was messed up then and am still now but I'm seeing my doctor. I just want a fresh start before going back to college," he said, I frown a little, "college? What happened at college?" I asked.
"I'm shifting, I'm no longer taking med, I plan to take law and maybe follow my father's footsteps in the future," he said with a small smile, I look at him knowing that he isn't telling me the full story, "I know I made a mistake and I know the consequences of my mistake had a huge impact on your relationship with Em but know that I'm trying, I really am."
I stayed quiet for a while before saying, "I know your not telling me the full story about you shifting, but okay, I understand that you are making an effort and I salute you for it. I was angry but yeah we all made mistakes, beside me and Emily were never that close to begin with, maybe I just used you as an excuse for not having a proper relationship with her," I mumbled, "I accept your apology but I don't forgive you yet."
He nods his head, "but if you'll pay for our meal today maybe your a step closer to getting forgiven," I said as I food arrived, he laughs before nodding his head, "okay I accept that," he said as I switch my vanilla ice cream with his chocolate milkshake.
"Hey!"
"It's your fault for ordering chocolate milkshake when I was attempting to go for vanilla," I said as I drank some of it before digging in, Zach puts a few pieces of napkin close to my plate before he digs in his food.
"Oh that's good," he said looking at me, "isn't it?" I said nudging his side with my elbow with a grin, "damn that's good, no wonder you looked so expecting earlier at school."
"What would you do without me, you wouldn't have discovered this place at all," I said, he laughs, "of course, of course, oh my dear Son, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't know what heaven is," he said looking at me with a grin.
"Oh dear Son, this is nothing as long as you pay for my lunch next week Wednesday, the lunch lady said that chocolate cake will only be available for Wednesday lunch," I said, "again?" He whined.
I pat his back, "that's okay, you'll get used to it soon," I said with a grin before turning to Lucas who was already looking at us, "how long will you be in town for?" I asked, "I'm leaving tomorrow morning," he said.
I nod my head, "then maybe for old times sake, wanna watch the sunset at west side lake today?" I said, he smiles, "we'll probably miss the sunset, plus I already made plans with my family," he said, I nod my head with a smile, "I hope you'll be better when I see you next time," I said.
he nods his head, "thanks, but I've been meaning to ask," he said, I raise an eyebrow at him, "are you two dating?" He asked.
I look at Zach before looking at him again, "no, I'm tutoring him for math, but he's been acting clingy lately, I don't know why," I said looking at Zach who is smiling at me, "I'm touched that you no longer see me as a weirdo but a clingy person instead."
