My box felt like it was about to explode in my head, my desire and need to see Madeline pushing hard against the lid. My Mother’s loving voice filtered through my mind as I got close to the house, informing me that she was working to gently try and break though Madeline’s pain—not surprising to me, knowing my mother’s gift, a huge heart filled with endless love for all and a selfless countenance that had the ability to break through even impenetrable walls.
