Chapter 40: Meetings of Desirous Minds, Part I

All the girls had quickly packed their belongings for our journey and set them on the floor in the common room. They couldn’t take everything, of course, a conversation we would need to have with Nicholas after things had settled to figure out the rest of our transition.
I felt confident, safe, and calm as we prepared to enter the Crescent Moon pack, never once feeling like we couldn’t overcome what lie ahead as far as my danger. I supposed this recent calming effect my body and mind had embraced that it really was for the best, just as I felt being the target was the best. The girls were safe, and my cool confidence would negate any further meltdowns…at least I hoped they would.
