After my admission, Nicholas’ expression was so incredibly heartwarming. Unable to contain his happiness and joy, his bright smile lit up my entire world. It suddenly felt silly not to give in, but the nagging reluctance creeped in anyway. It must have shown in my eyes, but instead of becoming disheartened at the sight, Nicholas simply took my hand in gently in his and allowed silence to flow between us while we walked again towards the training field. He truly never ceased to amaze me and obviously, still had no intention of giving up. If I were to be honest with myself, there was now a huge part of me so relieved in that realization. I don’t know that I would ever be able to understand his patience in his continued pursuit of me.
