Edagon kept a close eye on Aubrie for the remainder of the trip. His vessel had gone into hyper-drive some time ago, meaning that he was only hours away from his home planet. She was strangely quiet, more so than he expected. It had been obvious she didn’t quite know how to approach him after he had claimed her for his own. She was also clearly ashamed and confused about how much she had enjoyed it.
“Aubrie?”
“Yes?”
“Come here,” he said, sitting in his captain’s chair, reviewing the radar for any potential enemies. For now, all seemed clear.
She looked at him like he imagined a lamb would look at a lion. He reached his hand out, waiting for her to come to him. A moment of indecision was apparent in her eyes before she walked to him, although she did so with extreme wariness.
