I only say this because I don’t want you to get hurt.” Part of me wanted to soothe her by telling her I’d practically thrown myself at him in letters already, and he didn’t take the bait. I decided to be more dignified and give her less to worry about. “Oh Gran, what makes you think I’m interested in being anything other than Lazlo’s friend. There are bound to be plenty of other nice young men, like Owen, for instance.”
