The morning sun filtered through the crimson velvet drapes in Aiden’s bedroom, casting golden light across the stone floor and the edge of the bed where I still lay tangled in sheets and tangled in thoughts. My body hummed from the night before, my lips still tingled with the memory of his kisses, and I hadn’t felt this blissfully drained in… years. Maybe never. I stirred slowly, stretching like a satisfied cat. The scent of cinnamon and baked dough drifted into the room, luring me out of sleep completely.
