It had been a long day, and for the first time in what felt like ages, I actually wanted to sleep early. The softness of the mattress beneath me was a comforting change from the chaise lounge that I slept on last night. It was plush and welcoming, and for once, I allowed myself the indulgence of comfort. I sighed into the pillow, letting the scent of lavender lull me into a half-sleep haze.
