I woke before the sun, but not to a peaceful dawn or a quiet morning. Instead, an overwhelming wave of nausea crashed over me like an angry tide, sudden and unforgiving. My stomach knotted painfully, twisting tighter with every breath. The room spun faintly, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains looking like ghosts dancing in the haze of my dizziness. I tried to sit up, breath shallow and trembling, hoping to make it to the bathroom before....before everything fell apart. But before I could even move, my body betrayed me.
