The next morning arrived not with warmth, but with a heavy chill that clung to the walls like sorrow.. A golden sliver of sun tried to pierce through the curtains, but its warmth didn’t touch me. Not today. I woke up with a stiff neck and numb legs. My body protested as I stirred from my uncomfortable slumber on the cold bathroom floor.
