Arlo to Eden

440 Words
Arlo and Eden were different than their brother. Nicer than what he normally is. His air of niceness now might be debatable. But all three of them were still considered harsh by those who knew of them. For these three each had powers of their own, and they collected the powers of others through manipulation. They convinced other young vampires to stay by their side, using less than savory methods. And sometimes they even turned humans who had signs of power. Anyone who’s been turned all but owes allegiance to the one who turned them. So Lucius, and Arlo and Eden, had loyal followers by the hundreds. As Arlo and Eden met their brother and his new companion, she hid behind him, holding onto his hand as panicked thoughts filled his head. Whatever her power was, she obviously couldn’t control it. Luci squatter down and thought to her, to interrupt her thoughts. He thought calming thoughts, as her mind cleared and she let him soothe her. His brothers were scary people, but he got back up and turned to them, introducing his new prize. As any vampire would, they wanted to consume her, so lovely and fresh, but Luci stopped them. She had powers and was useful to them, once they figured out what they were. Luci had powers of his own, his being telepathy by touch. He could read minds and feelings, much like Benedict when she touched his hands. Arlo had an electric styled power, where he gave life to dead technologies, like relighting a lightbulb. It also seemed to work as a fire starter, being able to zap a campfire if needed. Or something bigger. Eden’s was more of a plant based power. He could cause trees to grow bigger, or flowers to wilt. But the limitations were on size and distance. The larger the tree, or the further away a flower was, the harder it was to control its growth or decay. Others in their following had a wide array of talents. But none had quite the powers these three had. Or if they did, they weren’t skilled enough to use it agains the brothers. The task set to the three now was figuring out the exact nature of her powers. If they proved to be just like Lucius’ then they could double team a telepathic duo. If they weren’t exact, but similar, perhaps she would be less needed. As she was an unwanted street rat, however long it took them wouldn’t matter. They could take her whole life and none would be the wiser. But turning her would have to wait until her usefulness was decided
