Big Confession

I couldn't move my body. I was just sitting there staring at him with wide eyes and he also seemed shocked, but he managed to make a more serious face even though he was panicking a bit because it showed.  "H-how long have you b-been h-here?"  I swear my face is red as a tomato now. I am not even sure if what I did was a good job! I was just checking the keyboard and I didn't even know if my voice sounded good to let the CEO's son hear it, since I had never heard it.  That must be the most embarrassing moment I have had in my entire life! "No. I just g-got here. W-were you doing something?" he asked, stuttering.  I could see his ears turning red. I looked away thinking that it was only me who was thinking that way. I stood up hurriedly and bowed my head countless times. "I was just checking if it's working, sir." He laughed uncomfortably. " It did?" I nodded. "Y-yeah. I...I guess it did." "Why are you here alone?" "I thought they were here. I didn't know where they were so I stayed...sir." I bit my lower lip. I don't know what has gotten into me for calling him that way, but I was just so embarrassed that I think I needed to see him, someone higher than a newbie like me.  "W-why are you here?" I asked to somehow ease the tension between us. Or should I say, awkwardness? "I was looking for you," he said without breaking his voice and all eyes on me. I was stunned at first but became awkward again. Why would he be looking for me? I wanted to ask him that but the way he stares makes me uncomfortable so much that I can't look at his eyes without breaking it.  "W-why...sir?" He laughed now with more humor, laughing as if what's happening doesn't bother him anymore. "What's with that sir?" I then wanted to punch myself for feeling this way when I was no one to him in the first place.  "B-because you are...a senior?" I said, not even sure about what I was saying. "You never called me Sir earlier." I closed my eyes tight. Didn't I?  It suddenly crossed my mind the first time we met. I thought he was someone else, so I didn't get to show my respect. If I had known better. Also, the first time we had a conversation was just this morning. I wanted to be buried alive when I remembered that I truly never called him sir! Thus, another memory crossed my mind.  That's right. "M-mariel..." I started. "She did not call you sir, so I guess it was fine." My voice became tiny as the words came out of my mouth. I heard him chuckling. I couldn't look at him straight. Don't do anything stupid again, Emily. One is enough. Two would be your death. "Ahh, Mariel," he taunted. "Yes. So I thought it would be fine to address you informally. I-i'm sorry, sir." "Do you know how old Mariel is?" I gave it some thought. Mariel seemed like a sweet teen. She's bubbly and cute. We have the same height, so I thought we are also sharing the same age. "Twenty." I guessed. He laughed once again. Seems like enjoying watching me suffer. "She's twenty-four," he mumbled. My mouth circled in shock. Twenty-four? Mariel is four years older than me? And here I am thinking how big about my sister looks I am that I thought I was way older than her. And now this man is saying Mariel is four years older than me?  "Surprise, huh?" he teased again. I gave him a sharp look. "I-i'm not. I have known it all along!" He sarcastically nodded. "Hmm. Knew it all along but answered that Mariel is twenty." I looked away. "It was just..." I sighed heavily. Okay, I am defeated. And I can't believe this is happening. This is too much embarrassment.  "It's fine. That's given why a lot of newbies like you think she's younger than her age." I wanted to taunt him too. What's wrong with being twenty-four? She's still young and Mariel is still cute as sixteen. "She's pretty," he added. My eyes narrowed at him. "You like Mariel, don't you?" What expression I was expecting was shock or surprise, but he just stared at me with nothing at all, like what I noticed wasn't a big confession. That is what I am seeing. No one knows what I feel, but it's not that hard to know what others feel if you just focus or given intent attention to them. "You are right. Mariel is pretty."  "How can you say I like her?" he asked. "Well..." I stared at him as if observing. "It shows." The side of his lips rose. "What are you, a cupid born as a human?" I laughed, taunting. "More like a match maker I am." But the part of me also doesn't wish for them to end up together. Dalia has a huge crush on Elijah. But Elijah likes Mariel. Am I witnessing a love triangle inside the company and between the artists?  And what's more interesting is...the CEO's heir is involved. I crossed my arms above my chest and gave him a narrowed look. You are doomed, Mr. Elijah. "Is this why she doesn't call you sir? Because the boyfr-" I cut myself. "I mean, you don't want her to call you sir?" I nodded and laughed at myself like a crazy woman. "Well, it's right, though. It's really weird for someone you like to call you sir. I don't want that either." He took a step forward until those steps were repeated. He walked towards me with an expression I couldn't read, so it made me unconsciously fix my posture.  He stopped right in front of me. "The CEO is looking forward to talking to you before you leave for today." My eyes widened at his serious remark.  "W-what? Why didn't you tell me immediately?" He blinked and stared into my eyes. My tongue who wanted to play like an immature and fake mad girl, moved back.  "Go," he hissed. W-what? What does this mean? He's mad? "Go and give him the talk he wants." "Why are you-" "Leave." I nodded nervously. Even his voice suddenly changed. I walked past him because I really couldn't stand his serious stares.  I held the knob of the door and opened it but I was just about to step out when he spoke again. "You..." I heard him sigh. "Have a nice voice." My cheeks heated and then I closed the door that had become the boundary between us. I have...what?
