"Who do you think he was talking about?" Aliya asked as I walked into my room and shut the door behind me.
I knew she was referring to what Hector said downstairs earlier about us embarking on a short trip when Aldric returned. What I don’t know is how Aliya expects me to have an answer to that question. You would think she wasn’t present downstairs when Hector spoke about it.
He clearly said it was an old friend of his who was supposed to have answers. How am I supposed to know who Hector’s old friends are when I don’t even know Hector himself, aside from the fact that he used to be Night Crescent’s beta at one time?
"I don’t know, Aliya, I guess we’ll have to wait and find out," I said grumpily, my mood still sour from the day's events—not to mention all those questions
