Where did I get the necklace?
That's a very good question actually. One I had no idea how to answer at the moment, with all the eyes that were currently on me.
I'd completely forgotten about the necklace that I was still wearing around my neck. It's a wonder Aldric hadn't even noticed it the whole time he got back, which I guess is due to all the distraction of having to deal with Maryce over something that I'm still yet to know.
As if just now noticing the necklace for the first time_which is exactly what happened_ Aldric paused in his steps, as he turned his head around to stare at me. His eyes landed first on the necklace around my neck, and I saw the recognition that flashed in his eyes before they moved up to mine.
