I didn't wait. I didn't hesitate for even a second. I'm not that stupid, nor did I have a death wish.
As soon as that single word left her mouth, I scrambled to my feet and took off in the opposite direction. Only I didn't get far. I tried. I did my best and ran as fast as I could, but in the end, luck wasn't on my side. The next thing I knew, one of the men appeared out of nowhere, blocking my path and forcing me to come to a halt.
My eyes widened, and I turned around, quickly trying to run in a different direction, but I wasn't fast enough. Or maybe he was just too fast for any normal person. The next thing I knew, my hair was grabbed from behind, and he yanked me back harshly, causing me to fall to the ground on my back.
