Maxie slightly parted her lips as though she couldn’t believe what Damien just said.
And so was everyone else.
They were all staring at Damien and Maxie, dumbfounded, as this information sank in.
Aurora was the first one to start clapping. She smiled looking at Maxie and cried, “Go Maxie!”
Maxie’s face went red instantly.
“W—Wait! I can’t!” she waved her hands in panic and gasped, “There are so many capable and strong warriors in the army. I can’t be your only choice—”
“You are not our only choice. But you are our best choice,” Damien said with an encouraging smile. “You have been training our soldiers. You have the experience, and you are familiar with how things are done here at Silver Blade Pack. I have discussed this with the elders. They all agreed with me on this.”
