All eyes turned to Maxie, who had her head held down low.
“Her?” Lance asked again in disbelief, “A soldier? Are you serious right now? You can be pressured by a common soldier?”
“Yes. Don’t get tricked by her appearance! She is quite a fierce one! A lot of people in this pack are intimidated by her!”
Lance did witness Maxie’s conquest—she took down a crazy bear all by herself.
“But why would she try to kill Aurora then? They don’t even know each other!”
Maxie remained silent. The man hesitated.
Baron smoothly took over and said, “Jealous, maybe? She was afraid that Aurora might out-strong her in the competition and therefore send those bears to kill Aurora. Women…Ha, a bunch of redeyes monkeys. Should never allow them into the army—”
“SHUT UP! I am not asking you!” Lance snapped
