They locked eyes for a few seconds and Aurora reacted first. She jumped at him, kicked off his knife and tackled him to the ground. Kaelan let out a painful gasp as Aurora twisted his arm to his back.
“Aurora! It’s me!” Kaelan cried.
“I know it’s you!” Aurora hissed, “What are you doing by my bed side with a knife!”
Kaelan stared back at Aurora with a shocked look, “W—What are you talking about? It’s your knife! You always keep a knife under your pillow while sleeping. Remember?”
Aurora glanced at the knife that had dropped to the ground.
Kaelan was right. It was indeed her knife. It was an old habit of her to keep a weapon nearby when she was asleep.
“OK. But what were you doing with it? And what were you even in my tent?” Aurora snapped.
