The room fell silent when Kenneth entered my office. River's eyebrows shot up in surprise, causing me to cough.
"Oh, I'm sorry. It looks like you two were talking," Kenneth said, scratching his head.
"We are done talking anyways," I smiled, but my smile faded when River spoke.
"We are not done talking."
"Excuse me?" I asked, and we glared at each other before Kenneth intervened.
"I'm just here to give you this flower!" he said, and my eyes landed on him. He showed me my favorite flower and smiled at me.
I took the flower and smiled sweetly. This guy, really.
"You throw my roses in the trash can, but you accept his flowers?" River scoffed, making me chuckle a bit.
