I woke up to a silence that felt wrong and sunlight. I jumped up. The sunlight streaming through the gaps in my curtains was far brighter than it should be at 6:30 AM. I scrambled for my phone on the nightstand. It was 7:45 AM. My alarm hadn't gone off… I looked over at the now empty David’s side of the bed…. Or rather, it had been silenced. "God damn it, David," I whispered, throwing the covers off and rushing into the bathroom.
