-LUTHER- In the last millisecond, good sense slammed back into me, and I snapped out of it. I lifted my head and pressed a quick, barely‑there kiss to Audrey’s forehead. When I pulled away, she looked at me with those big dove eyes. A whirlwind of emotions crossed her face. Shock, confusion, then understanding. Her lips were parted, and there was a hint of desire too, but I was pretty sure that part was just me projecting. One moment, I was bringing her to my favorite place, trying to give her a little lightness. It started harmless, simple, nothing but Platonic.
