ETHAN "Dammit," I muttered, frowning as I washed the dishes. Moments like these made me wonder if I understood anything about life. I just didn’t get it. I didn’t understand what was happening to me these days. I felt like I was hanging on a thread and could lose my mind at any point in time. It all weighed heavily on me. It began with seeing that creature at the Conans’ house. I told myself it was all fine, that I was tired or sick, and that's why I saw what I saw. And for a while, I believed it until I saw it again while coming back from the store days ago. Then there was that weird note at the store the other day. Even after all this, I refused to dwell on it and instead focused on the good things happening in my life. But two days ago, that woman appeared out of nowhere, like so
