“Fox, I feel like you’re siding with the new wife,” Zinnia glared angrily at Agent Fox, King Archer’s personal adviser.
She had gone to his room, as usual, to clash with him over the issue of Pearl’s pregnancy. She was so jealous that she couldn’t help but complain to her only friend in the castle, Fox.
“Come on, Zinnia, there is no way I am supporting another woman when I have you here. I am just saying that it’s too early to do anything. It would be better if we watch her and the King and see how their relationship goes. Think about it. Torturing the pregnant Queen so early will make the King suspicious, and he will bring more eyes to watch and guard her. But if we wait for her to stay for a month, at least anything that happens to the King won’t be suspicious, because she has stayed long enough and might know her way around, if I am making sense,” he said.
A smile curved Zinnia’s lips. “You’re always making sense, my love,” she said as she pecked his lips. “I was just scared of losing the King’s attention. I already feel like the King prefers her to me. He already started by letting her keep the pregnancy. Gosh, that annoys me the most,” Zinnia cursed, running her hands through her brown, wavy hair in frustration.
“Definitely, the King might pay more attention to her than the rest of you, because she is young, beautiful, and pregnant,” he replied calmly. “You see? That’s why we have to watch their closeness and know when to strike,” he added as Zinnia nodded slowly. “And by the way, if the King doesn’t give you attention, I am here to give you an abundance of it,” Agent Fox teased as Zinnia rolled her eyes.
“You’re not my husband, and you’re not enough,” Zinnia said, blushing slightly as Fox pulled her closer and kissed her lips.
“But I am your lover,” he giggled as he pushed her gently onto the bed.
“Come on, Fox, this is the wrong time. We might get caught,” Zinnia sighed, frowning as she stood up. “I will be leaving now. Just give me updates on whatever the King tells you,” she requested before leaving, abandoning a frustrated and aroused Fox alone on the bed.
Yes, they were lovers. Even before Zinnia got married to the King, they had always had a thing together. Agent Fox had influenced the King to marry Zinnia so he could keep her close, and almost every night, Zinnia would sneak into his room for their usual routine.
Zinnia cautiously popped her head out to check if anyone was in the hallway before quietly stepping out of Fox’s room. She padded down the hallway and suddenly sighted the King coming out of Pearl’s room with no expression on his face.
That was normal for the King, and that alone wasn’t her problem. Her problem was seeing the King come out of Pearl’s room.
Jealousy burned through her as she wished she could confront the King and warn him never to see Pearl again, but doing that would likely cost her life.
She quickly hid behind a pillar when she noticed some guards approaching. She knew that being seen in that hallway would raise suspicion, since she had no business there. Her room was beside the King’s room in another hallway entirely.
She watched as the guards stood by Pearl’s door. Four guards were guarding Pearl. For what reason? she wondered as she sighed deeply.
“I can’t stay here forever. I need to do something to leave this place immediately before I get caught,” she thought as she bit her lip.
An idea suddenly clicked in her mind. She smiled and stepped out of her hiding spot, walking toward the guards, who stared at her in surprise when they noticed her presence.
“Greetings, my Queen,” they said in unison as they bowed deeply. “My Queen, what are you doing in this hallway? And why are you coming out from that direction?” one of the guards asked curiously.
She sighed. She found the question offensive, but she didn’t want to react harshly and draw attention that might reach the King’s ears.
“Well, I came to see the new Queen, and I saw a peacock running down the stairs, so I decided to follow it to see if I could catch it. You should be mindful of these creatures. The cleaners might not have locked their cage properly after cleaning it,” Queen Zinnia replied smoothly.
The guards stared at her in confusion, wondering how a peacock could escape unnoticed when the castle was so tightly guarded.
Her excuse didn’t sound realistic at all, yet they believed her. Maybe it was actually possible.
“Mark, go check if you can still see the peacock,” the senior guard ordered as Mark hurried away.
“My Queen, with all due respect, we wouldn’t want to see you in this hallway again unless you have a valid reason to visit Her Highness,” the guard said firmly.
Zinnia rolled her eyes internally. She wished she could slap him at that moment, but he was right. She shouldn’t be there.
She quickly walked away and returned safely to her room, feeling shaken yet accomplished. She had almost been caught, and that was enough to make her heart race wildly.
“That was close. You should be more careful next time, Zinnia,” she scolded herself as she stared at her reflection in the large mirror and slapped herself lightly.
She had planned to return to Agent Fox later that night, but she decided against it, still recovering from the shock of what had almost happened.
She knew Fox might come looking for her if she didn’t visit him, but the truth was that she wasn’t in the mood for any disgusting acts that night.

“Don’t you think you’re being too harsh on your new wife, Pearl? I mean, she is young and fragile compared to the rest of the Queens,” Prince Ray said as he sipped his liquor, staring at his brother, who cared about nothing but power and women.
“Well, every woman deserves to be treated roughly. I mean, you don’t expect me to baby her or something, right?” King Archer replied as he sipped from his glass, staring back at his brother, who gave him a knowing look. “Pearl is a grown woman, and I married her to be my home slut. As Lula and Snow’s body shapes are shrinking, they no longer look sexy to me. Zinnia and Felicity’s v*****s are now too wide, and I wonder why. So basically, Pearl rules my bed until I get tired of her,” King Archer said blankly as Ray scoffed, disturbed by the kind of man his brother had become.
Sometimes Archer surprised him with his words. He was a replica of their father. Their father never married. He enslaved the woman who gave birth to them until she died giving birth to Archer, and he ensured that his two sons never laid eyes on their mother.
“So, are you planning to get married again?” Ray asked, already expecting the worst response.
“Yes. If Pearl starts looking unsexy, then I will have no choice but to marry another woman, and maybe the next one will be a teenager,” the King said casually as Ray’s eyes widened in shock. He never expected such words from his brother.
Archer was definitely ready to marry as many women as possible as long as he got what he wanted.
“Greetings, Your Highness and my honorable Prince, my King. The lady is here, and she is waiting for you in your room,” the guard said with a bow.
“My room? Why? I warned you all to keep them in the guest rooms instead. She might steal my valuables without me noticing,” the King yelled as the guard shivered, goosebumps rising on his skin.
“I’m sorry, my King. I will send her out of the room immediately,” the guard said, bowing as he turned to leave.
“There is no need for that. Just make sure I do not see any slut in my room again,” the King added sharply as the guard bowed and left.
“Why the sudden decision? Did any of them steal from you?” Prince Ray asked, raising his brows.
“I just decided to stop using my matrimonial bed. Even if they had stolen from me, I wouldn’t know, because I have plenty of everything in that room,” Archer replied as he stood up. “I think I will leave you alone now,” he said as Ray nodded slowly.
“Go enjoy your night,” Ray replied with a faint smirk.
That was the kind of person his brother was, and he couldn’t change him. All he could do was let him live his life. Still, he was secretly glad that his brother would finally be having a child.
King Archer entered his room to find a woman lying naked on his bed, waiting for him. She smiled seductively and winked at him. That was the kind of woman he loved, the type that didn’t need to be told what to do and was always ready and submissive. He had never slept with her before, but she was bold enough to seduce him.
“Greetings, my King. I hope I am sexy enough to serve you tonight,” she said, biting her lips softly as she bent into a suggestive position.
“Where have you been all my life?” the King muttered as he walked over, yanked her hair, and forced her to look up at him.
“Hope you can handle me?”
