Chapter 17Max opened the hatch, and saw Tai briefly flinch from the sudden inrush of noise and commotion on the docks. It wasn’t chaos, Max thought, as they stepped out. The people were not clawing at the doors to get at the food supplies aboard, but there were a lot of people in celebratory mood, who probably didn’t have any business on the docks, but who were here anyway.
At the next airlock over on the left the crew of the Skylark’s Song had disembarked, and a young woman he recognized as Sasha Kuznetsov was in a three way embrace with her parents. On their right, Anja Wyndham, who was also well known on the station, was stepping out of her airlock, wearing a startling black and red outfit, and full makeup, with her hair up.
