CHAPTER Drisklay tossed his Styrofoam cup into the nearest trash and made his way toward Mrs. Linklater. When he saw the look on her face, he worried she was going to faint. He stepped toward her, ready to steady her if she turned out to be as weak-legged as she appeared. “Mrs. Linklater,” he greeted. “Where’s my daughter?” Her voice was breathy. Desperate. Drisklay took her by the elbow and led her toward the elevators, flashing his room key at the security guard on station. “She’s sleeping now.
