The Meeting

Kevin got to the bar early, he was hungry and wanted to scope out the pickings ahead of time. The bartender set his burger down in front of him, leaning just a little too far forward so he could see her shirt gape open. He knew she was just in it for the tips, and it would have helped, except he wasn’t interested. Not tonight. His eyes roamed over the scene, lots of activity tonight. He was sitting at the bar which sat on an elevated level away from the pool tables and dart boards. The atmosphere was dark with just enough light to make sure safety standards were met. The pool tables had lights directly above them and that was the only lighting for that area next to the neon signs they had on the walls. Had to hand to Alex, if she wanted to be discreet and find someone she would never have to see again, this is exactly the kind of establishment to be in. He dug into his food as he was thinking. The door opened at that moment, and he almost dropped the burger out of his mouth as Alex walked in. She had updated her wardrobe. He felt a pull of jealousy as the guy at the pool table closest to her missed his shot as he took in her arrival. She had crimped her hair, so it looked full and was ready to be grabbed in a fistful, she was wearing a little body suit with spaghetti stripes that had a lace covering over her midsection but pushed her breasts up to expose the creamy white skin and a little black skirt with glitter that clung to her hips and thighs. f**k, I wanted to run my hands under the skirt to find out what she was wearing underneath. Her sweet thick, white, thighs were exposed, she chose not to wear any stockings tonight. She had on two-inch heels, velvet boots that reached just two inches over the top of her knees. Alex stopped at the door as she entered and took a deep breath in and out as she pulled out her id to hand to the bouncer as she walked in the bar. Mingles was known for its ever-changing crowd as it offered pool and darts throughout the week. She spotted him at the bar, she started walking towards him, he noticed that she was not going unnoticed. As she sat down next to him, he saw the look of disappointment in the faces around the bar as they turned away. Except that one guy playing pool, after he missed the shot, he stood up to take her in fully. Kevin was pretty sure there was a prospect there for their mission tonight. “Looking good tonight, Alex”, Kevin commented as she settled down into the seat. “Thanks” she mumbled back. She flagged down the bartender and grabbed herself a shot of fireball and a double huckleberry iced tea. She was starting off strong. “Is this stupid? This is stupid and crazy and what was I thinking Kevin? What in the world made you say yes to this?” Alex rattled off. Her drinks appeared in front of her, and she threw back the fireball as she laid down cash to pay for the drinks. Kevin chuckled as he picked up his burger to take another bite, “calm down gorgeous, it’s going to be a night to remember.” Alex spun her barstool around in a circle as Kevin finished his burger, taking in the scene around her and the men in the bar. She stopped suddenly when her eyes locked with the guy playing pool. He had shaggy black hair that ended right below his chin, with dark brown eyes, he looked to be around Kevin’s height of 5’11, maybe a little taller. He gave her a wink as his buddy pointed out it was his turn. Alex quickly turned around and took a drink from her tea, she waived down the bartender again to order some cheese sticks with a side of ranch, comfort food always helped with her nerves. “Sooo, how exactly do we do this?”, she asked Kevin. He took a swig of his beer and looked at her. She had one hand on the bar, and she was swinging her stool side to side. He placed his hand on her knee to get her to stop. “First, we have to get you loosened up, so we are going to sit here and have a couple of drinks and you’re gonna eat your mozzarella sticks and breath.” Her food arrived right he said that, so she reached for it and doused it in ranch, you could never go wrong with cheese and ranch. Of course, she immediately dropped ranch down the front of her chest. She scooped it up with her finger and sucked it off. Did he just growl? Alex swore she heard him growl but when she looked over, Kevin had turned away. Fuck, if Alex can make ranch look sexy, he wasn’t sure how he was going to survive the night. This was a bad idea. They could never quite come to terms with each other’s past and fully trust each other and so it was just a constant warzone of emotional baggage. Eventually, they had to let go because they were just hurting each other more instead of healing. He wanted to do this for her though. She didn’t trust easy when it come to her s****l needs and wants, he wasn’t going to let some other guy step in and have this experience with her. He owed her that much. Corban took the final shot of the game, sinking the eight ball in the side pocket. His friend chuckled as he handed over the money they put on the game. “Guess tonight just wasn’t my night. Thought I had you when that cute little redhead walked in.” Corban looked up quick, “well you saw her sit down just as well as I did.” Corban responded. “Didn’t really see the point of losing my beer money for someone who beelined it to another guy.” “Fair enough” his friend chuckled as he walked away. Corban looked up to the bar, the redhead had her bar chair facing away from the bar, scanning the crowd as if she was looking for someone. Her friend said something in her ear that made her laugh, Corban wanted to know what was so funny as she reached around to the bar behind her to grab her drink. Her lips wrapped around the straw and slowly sucked as she savored the flavor of whatever she was drinking. She turned her chair his way and caught his eye, he had winked at her earlier and she turned away rather quickly. She leaned her body towards her friend while she maintained eye contact with him. Her friend turned and looked at me, then went back to her and said something. I watched as he got up to go somewhere, probably the restroom. She stood up and walked my way. She turned her head towards the floor, deciding now was the time to be shy. Cute, he didn’t do cute. Corban started racking the balls on the table, deciding he was going to stay and practice his bank shots. As he placed the eight ball in the center of the rack, he felt her come up beside him. She smelled like vanilla, like she had spent the day baking cookies”. “Hey” Alex said as she attempted to start this very awkward conversation. Kevin said she should start out by asking him to play a game of pool, but she sucked at pool. She wasn’t very good at a lot of things. What was she doing? Corban thought she was literally here with someone else. “Hey” he responded back, he was not interested in having his face decked tonight. “I’m Alex, I thought I saw you looking at me at the bar a couple of times and you seem pretty good at pool, maybe you could help with my shot?” Oh, that was not a good idea, Corban would have to stand behind her to see the angle of her arm when she set and when she released the cue. “I don’t think so” he told her. “Oh um, okay. I’m sorry for bothering you.” s**t, now he felt bad. “Look, I just don’t think your boyfriend would appreciate me helping you.” “My boyfriend? Oh Kevin? He’s not my boyfriend, not anymore anyway.” Alex admitted as she ducked her head into the ground. “He’s not? Why were you sitting with him then?” She blushed “He’s helping me with a favor.” Now what kind of favor would make her blush like that. He was curious enough to ask, “What favor?” She took a big gulp of her drink as she raised her eyes to him and rushed the words out. “I asked him to f**k me with another guy.” Alex was as red as a lobster now and she did not have enough left in her drink to make the embarrassment die down. She quickly looked down into the glass as the guy she approached seemed speechless.
