Autumn woke up in her own bed and smiled at her sweet-faced Shih Tzu. She pulled Chrissy closer. Autumn loved snuggling her, especially after last night’s bath made her hair smell fresh. She kissed Chrissy’s head and heard her grunt.
Pulling on a robe, she lifted Chrissy off the bed and downstairs. The moment the sliding door opened, Chrissy walked onto her patio and smelled the air before continuing onto the grass. Autumn stood outside watching her fur baby and marveling at how her unique gift had helped catch Susan DiMarco. She was grateful that they could protect their new friend, Dana Wood, from Susan’s desperation.
It saddened Autumn to think of the emotional and mental pain Susan must have been in to commit her crimes and hoped she was now at peace.
