Vera’s POV Something had changed. At first, it was little things. Warriors who used to smile at me now gave stiff nods. Conversations that used to stop when I walked into the room didn’t start again when I left. They whispered behind my back. I felt it. I tried to ignore it—told myself it was in my head. That I was still adjusting. That maybe it was just nerves after the party. But the stares lingered longer. The warmth in the pack’s energy was cooling fast. One morning, I brought food down to the training field. A gesture I’d done before. Usually, the warriors were grateful—some even joked with me. But this time, no one said a word.
