Marcello dug into his steak, sawing back and forth only a few times before shoving a piece into his mouth. He didn’t look at his guests, only waited for them to be served before he himself began eating. He swallowed, then took a sip from his glass of wine, finally bringing his eyes to his company. They sat at a small octagonal table, with Marcello and Luca side by side. The dining room was private, small, with floor to floor windows and satin draperies, complete with matching table dressing and dishware. Callen looked around him in-between bites, noting how small and cozy the room was compared to the rest of the home.
