I was sitting in the cafe, thinking about everything that had happened these past weeks. It hurt me to see his beautiful blue eyes dulled. I wished I could heal all his pain. I knew that if I tried hard enough, I could make it happen. Austin was good, despite his bad temper, and perhaps, with my love, I could heal his heart.
"Are you okay?" Nadia asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yes, I’m just tired," I replied, and Nadia looked at me fondly.
"Could it be because of Mr. Wells' mood?" my friend said, and I laughed out loud. She laughed too, and even if they thought I was crazy, I loved my grumpy ogre.
Nadia had told me that Levi had left the city, which was for the best. I could only offer him my friendship, but it was clear he would not settle for that.
